i can't take the majority of posters on this site seriously. everything is "terfy" but nothing is racist. everyone is a misandrist if you put men dni in your bio but no one is capable of misogyny. every kink under the sun is perfectly harmless and are never tinged by our white supremacist and patriarchal society, but if you try and have a genuine discussion about abuse in bdsm/kink spaces you're an "anti" and on the same level as homophobic fascists. everyone wants to apparently help palestine but no one wants to threaten biden with witholding their vote. yall are so unserious it makes my head spin

putting "q slur" on a post makes you a terf but if you try and discuss transmisogyny coming out of trans men's and tme nonbinary spaces you're a big meanie who's a transandrophobe. be . real

taboo kinks like pedophilia/rape/incest are not innate to transfemininity or to queerness or to autism and this current wave of attempts to naturalize them as such is alarming and suspicious

I feel like a good shorthand for a lot of economics arguments is "if you want people to work minimum wage jobs in your city, you need to allow minimum wage apartments for them to live in."

"These jobs are just for teenagers on the weekends." Okay, so you'll use minimum wage services only on the weekends and after school. No McDonald's or Starbucks on your lunch break.

"They can get a roommate." For a one bedroom? A roommate for a one bedroom? Or a studio? Do you have a roommate to get a middle-wage apartment for your middle-wage job? No? Why should they?

"They can live farther from city center and just commute." Are there ways for them to commute that don't equate to that rent? Living in an outer borough might work in NYC, where public transport is a flat rate, but a city in Texas requires a car. Does the money saved in rent equal the money spent on the car loan, the insurance, the gas? Remember, if you want people to take the bus or a bike, the bus needs to be reliable and the bike lanes survivable.

If you want minimum wage workers to be around for you to rely on, then those minimum wage workers need a place to stay.

You either raise the minimum wage, or you drop the rent. There's only so long you can keep rents high and wages low before your workforce leaves for cheaper pastures.

"Nobody wants to work anymore" doesn't hold water if the reason nobody applies is because the commute is impossible at the wage you provide.

one depiction of angels that i don't see very often but do like a lot is when the angel itself is contained in the halo, and the body is just a projection or vessel. it reminds me of those lizards that shed their tails as decoys to distract predators.

do people even know the extent of sanctions on the iranian people? my mom's family can't afford fruit anymore. it's a state of psychological warfare; literally nobody living there has any sort of hope for the future. added sanctions from the EU are going to destroy the lives of 87 million innocent people

as my cousin put it: "there is no point to saving up out of uncertainty that it will be worth anything in a month. what investments can you make in the future when you can't even be sure how much food will cost tomorrow? this isn't living." there are, of course, absolute shortages as well—my late grandmother experienced a period of deterioration because the medicine she needed was just not available. many such cases.

there are so many people/groups online who are like the equivalent of those animals who fall into an isolated cave and evolve wildly differently
