Can I just rant for a little bit about how important Padmé Amidala is to me?
- Had amazing sense of fashion and liked to wear dresses and get her hair done
- Was openly empathetic and emotional - really put her heart on her sleeve 24/7
- Always spoke openly with Anakin if he was making her uncomfortable
- Worked towards a career in politics - serving for TWO WHOLE TERMS as queen (something never seen before on Naboo until she came to power), then became a Senator
- Never talked down to Anakin, instead arguing her own point calmly, even when he expressed dumb ideas (e.g. tyrannical government)
- Never relied on anyone else to get her out of a situation
- Was unapologetic about her love for Anakin - all her political decisions represent how pragmatic she was, but she understands that when it comes to people you love you’re allowed to be hopeful
- Was extremely intelligent, capable, and reliable
- AND on top of all of this, trained to wield a blaster and protect herself
Because although women like Rey and Leia are such important feminist icons, I am eternally grateful for Padmé because she represents a more feminine interpretation of this. She taught me that I can like dresses and practice restraint and have a clichéd romance and still be capable enough to go into politics and have the ability to fight well. Being feminine didn’t discredit that she was just as powerful as Anakin, just in different ways.

I know this is OLD (and embarrassing to me art-wise haha), but all of a sudden I just felt the urge to clear something up :)
A LOT of people, in response to this, proposed the idea of all three of them liking each other. “Why not both?” basically. And while in a way I agree and do ship them as poly, I also feel like everyone who responded that way completely missed the point.
The point of this silly old post was not to make you form this conclusion that the solution to ship hate is combining those ships into one, but that it’s possible to not like a ship and still be a decent human being. Your preferences are not superior no matter whether you like Dramione, or Drarry, or all three of them together (or anything else). So just let Draco be with whoever somebody wants him to be with and, in general, don’t be negative about somebody liking your NOTP. Simple :)
