Chapter 5 of in regards to fugue is finally up! Life got hectic and multiple rewrites happened. The usual.
The first Interlude (our flashbacks for this series) is up! And now back to working on in regards to fugue again. that I am on my third rewrite of ;;;
Chapter 8 of the FF8 AU (and the last chapter of disc one!) is up and posted! And now on to the special interlude and... well. The next chapter of in regards to fugue. :v
Chapter 7 of Reap What is Sown is up! There's one chapter left of Disc One and a special bonus/interlude chapter before it goes on a small hiatus so in regards to fugue can finally be worked on/finished if I can. also, again: I have a Twitter now (@chaicicle so you are welcome to come bug me there.
Chapter 6 of Reap What is Sown (the FF8 AU) is up! We're almost done with Disc 1 (two chapter left to my guess) so those and an interlude until I return to working on at least completing the next chapter of in regards to fugue.
Chapter 4 of Reap What is Sown is up! I am intending to finish the events of Disc One (since I'm almost done with it anyway except for editing) before returning to in regards to fugue. Mostly for my own peace of mind. It's... a work in progress. Emotions are hard.

Reap What is Sown (the FF8 AU thing I mentioned before) is up and posted mostly because the game's available at like six US dollars through Steam right now. I'm halfway done with the events of Disc One (of four, for those who haven't played), and I am keeping a strict ~5k wordcount for the chapters for my own sanity. Probably will upload Chapter 2 on Monday. (I swear I am working on the next chapter of in regards to fugue. It's... roughly halfway done? I don't want to give estimates because look what happened last time, it ended up getting stupid long.)
I. Um. Might be writing something I am only slightly embarrassed about. It's not the thing I mentioned before where I swore I needed a beta for (I am probably scrapping that, even if I'm... technically 55K+ into it, I really feel like it's stepping on other people's toes after poking around) and despite my original plan being MUCH SHORTER, it's looking like a longfic, too, so for the handful of you who actually pay attention to my very infrequent posting... ...How do you feel about a YOI/FF8 fusion? As in "YOI characters in FF8's world and plot? (though not following certain details exactly)"?
For anyone who was waiting for this, I am SO sorry it took this long. I got sick three separate times and had to rewrite the whole thing from the ground up because apparently it refused to be written the originally planned way. and then I kept getting distracted with a crossover fic I highly doubt I'm ever going to post because it's embarrassing and I'd seriously need a beta for fact-checking on that sucker.
(I had to scrap a scene of Victor getting mercilessly teased by the Russian team about his "totally not a crush nope" on Yuuri whyyyyy)
Third chapter of in regards to fugue is up! WARNING: there is content in this chapter that can be triggering. Read the opening and closing notes and decide for yourself. If someone asks, though, I'll side with those who want trigger warning tags and properly mark it on AO3. (I'll admit I'm not the best judge of the issue because this is. pretty standard-fare for my own life. um.) This thing became a behemoth at 14.6k+ words and I can only assume it's because there's more I actually have to connect instead of filling in spaces in the episodes/alternate viewpoints of canon scenes. I fear the rest of this story will be like that. Oh boy. I try to avoid writing longfic and I still get longfic why
What have I written? -like 85-90% of the next chapter -bits and pieces of later chapters while I'm fleshing out the plot (i love yWriter and its scene-based interface it's gr8) -several bits and pieces of backstory (including a proper bridge between what I'd already written for Victor and the Episode 10 stinger that threw everybody off-kilter) -the start of a kidfic that takes place like years down the line because I had a craving for something stupidly cute while writing this chapter -a sorry attempt at a more mature scene that ended up less sexytimes and more flowery (I should probably stop using Victor as the default narrator for these kinds of scenes) with a bonus of Yuuri freaking out about hickies Most of these will not be posted proper because they're: 1, for my reference mostly; and 2, warm-ups and/or for funsies (also I. do not write sex scenes period because I find them boring af so that's definitely not getting posted, it's terrible) Why have I not written the remaining 10-15% of the next chapter? Because it's another meal scene and I am tearing at my hair trying to figure out food again. I don't know why I keep doing this to myself. I can't even EAT most Russian food.

but seriously i have spent the past four days rewriting this because i had to scrap more than half of it. and then it doubled in size what. which is admittedly better than the chapter count doubling like I was starting to fear but.
(I mean I am slightly bitter that I lost one of the funnier scenes because there’s no way to use it. On the plus side there’ll be new ones in the future that amuse the hell out of me too, so. Trade-off?)
In the wake of those lost, something new is found. In the revival of the spirit, the flesh again grows weak.
The time has come for these two voices to run counter, so that they may end together.
