She remained on the ground, back against hard concrete, heavy pants as if she had ran for hours. Reality wasn’t so nice, she had been battling for hours, and what was supposed to be a ambush turned into a full blow battle when reinforcements from both humans and vampires had mixed in. There were already over 17 signals no longer moving, soldiers from her side, dead or like her exhausted.
She heard something shift seing familiar brown hair raising from the ground as Elyon finally tried to sit up too, if she stayed here she would die. Wincing in pain, her left arm was sore not even counting the multiple slight injuries her body counted. “ Geez, they sure weren’t playing around.” Elyon muttered, trying to get up but violent pain surged as she started folding her legs, preventing her from getting up just yet. She clenched teeth, screaming now would only hint to survivors for their enemies if some remained nearby.
Attention swiftly shifted toward her left knee, or the part just above it, deep slash from which fresh blood kept on escaping. Blow so heavy it could have cut off her leg but only damaged the muscle, she wouldn’t pull to stand up fr a while. Not on her own. So instead she focused on the other figure whom had seemingly gained counsciousness recently like her. “ Satonaka-san, is that you? How are you fairing ?” maybe if they helped each others out, they’d get away with their lives at least.
The battle had been gruesome-- blood was shed, tears had fallen, and fellow soldiers were now GONE. The mere thought made the girl feel dizzy. The thought of losing anyone caused her stomach to churn. However, the soldier tried her best not to let it get to her as she kept her guard up, fairing pretty well. That was, however, until she went to turn around and was knocked away from her squadron by an enemy-- a VAMPIRE. She only had a moment to gasp out a single command-- a command to RUN.
Unconscious due to her head getting knocked HARD upon the ground, the girl struggled to force herself to remain awake. Stay awake Rise-- You MUST stay awake! However, her efforts were meaningless as the pressure in her head made her lose whatever consciousness she could manage to keep. Long brown hair fanned around the female as she laid there, bleeding from her head wound and a gash in her left arm. Luckily enough for her, she was right handed so she would still be able to use her sword in an EFFORT to protect herself.
FINALLY managing to force herself to wake up, the girl pushed herself to an upright position, clenching her jaw tightly as she felt the overwhelming pain in her arm and head. Her comrades-- ANYONE. She needed to find them-- THAT’S what mattered now. Suddenly a voice. “Kurae-sama....?” She asked quietly, her voice weakened and quiet so that they wouldn’t be DISCOVERED. “It’s me, I’m fine, I’m fine. Are you alright? Here, let me help you stand...” The girl said as she barely managed to stand herself, WOBBLING slightly like a teeter-totter when she was able to actually stand.

A deep exhale as his eyes avert their gaze. An impossible promise and a painful truth to face. He’s never been one to sugarcoat things, despite how difficult they may be for the kids. But no one’s a kid these days. An unfortunate reality that everyone must grow up three times faster now. There’s no time to waste on days of innocence and freedom. At that, he sighs.
Taking a seat beside Rise’s bed, Guren looks to her. Violet eyes reflect soft sincerity; not quite pity but something similar. Apologetic. An apologetic gaze as he’s the one who’s doomed her to this fate, and he can’t even make this promise to her now. The weight of the guilt has his shoulders lowering as he turns to look at the wall across from him. Anything to distract him from the painful truth he faces when he looks to the youth. This is all his fault.
❛ I don’t plan on going anywhere. ❜ A distant response but not a lie. He has no intention of dying or allowing her to die. And he certainly won’t be leaving any time soon, unless his orders force him to do so. Eyes flicking back to her, one hand rests upon her shoulder. ❛ You just promise me that you’ll grow to be strong. ❜ A subtle snicker, and his lips slide to a smile. Perhaps, this is best said in jest. ❛ I can’t always be around to protect you. ❜

The female couldn’t help but feel nervous, going into this fight. She had just gotten out of the infirmary, and Esdeath was still pestering her. The female rubbed her arms as she looked to the black haired male. She stared at him briefly before she took a deep breath and reached over, taking both of his hands.
“Yuu-nii. There’s something I need to say,” She started. She smiled at him as tears lined her eyes, “I love you, and I’m sorry for whatever happens out there today.... And.... Thank you for.... being my brother.”

Rebirth At Eight
Screams were heard echoing down the halls, followed by the sounds of blood hitting the floor and guts being moved around. Sobbing out while her father dissected her, the helpless child squeezed her eyes shut and silently prayed for this hell to be over. She would rather be dead than this continue on any further. Why couldn’t she just die? What did he have to gain from this hell?
