I love rain it always makes for a poetic mood. Of course its a privilege to say that as someone who has shelter from the rain and cold. This week I worked on typing. I used to be a scribe and my speed is pretty high but my secret is that only my left hand types properly with all fingers. My right hand is a mess in which I only use my thumb, index and middle fingers for all the keys, which makes for a very chaotic typing experience lol

What a magical day! It felt like spring was here already. I feel very grateful to have the student life I have now. Despite of the stress of my physics project and seemingly pointless job applications, my friends at uni really help me to feel balanced. I went to a bookstore in town and picked up a book as a birthday present for a friend.

i’ve fully turned into a nocturnal being. kind of miss the structure in my life that school usually provides, but also enjoying the relative freedom i have now.

This semester was one of the most stressful semsters. I lost the track, then found myself. Again, lost myself, later found myself.

I even forgot that I've been blogging!!!

Finally, finished. I have only projects and manuscript writings. I need to find universities for applying master's.

Another stressing story, but we'll take care of it.

I wanted to get up at 5 today to study as I couldn't really study yesterday. I messed with my alarm until it was after 8 when I finally got up... Despite ne being really disappointed and angry with myself for that (I was really looking forward to getting to so early to study the night before), the day turned out to be really nice. I:

one thing i was hoping to learn during my post-bac but never really got around to was spike sorting. in my neural engineering class, i'm finally learning how to do that!

although i don't plan on collecting neural data at this level, i do hope to collect LFPs as part of my research so learning this signal processing in general is going to be extremely helpful. so far, i've determined my threshold and plotted the threshold line within the data. the hard part is everything that comes next of template matching, principal component analysis (PCA), and all the like. after not really using MATLAB in yeeears, this has been an adventure but i'm surprised at how much i've been able to recall and proud of myself for having no shame in googling MATLAB functions lol. i know i can figure this out, i'm smart(ish).

this hw is due feb 7th (with possibility of an extension if other people in the class take a while) so time to get her done. ft my pupper knocked out on the floor
