I definitely agree that Papyrus canonically seems to have better coping skills than most of the cast, but he still hides all sorts of shit from everyone he otherwise would seem to trust, it’s at least implied he has nightmares frequently enough that he hates sleeping, and he’s clearly got self esteem issues despite pretending to be full of himself. I can see an argument for him being more mentally stable than MOST of the cast but you cannot tell me he’s more stable than Mettaton lmfao. Aside from king Mettaton ending, Mettaton does not give a fuck about anything enough to make me think he’s anywhere near mentally ill lol
