Do you have any advice/tips for people just getting into SL that want to do fashion/photoshoot stuff?

Yea! Gacha backdrops have become very popular with fashion bloggers.

The ones by RAMA have always been my favourite, and if you check their flickr they have a lot more too.

You can also check the marketplace, lots of gacha resellers have more backdrops up as well.

Those are great because they’re so easy to use and you really don’t have to take a photo at a sim which can get a little bit laggy.

Foxcity also makes really cute poses, but you can also check with the marketplace for poses and just change the results to newest first.

Windlights are also really important for getting a nice photo!

Also recommend starting a flickr account to share you’re photos!

Just want to say some words about it.

I think that nobody forces you to donate money. You should do it if you want to thank the creator. All the CC is absolutely free, you don’t pay for anything like SL for example. And it’s ok, that the creator wants to have some money for their work. About adfly: you just need to wait 5 sec! omg, rly?! it’s not hard and not long, guyz. I really don’t understand, why you are complaining.

soooo true, i have downloaded many things from adfly and its only 5 seconds! Easy Peasey… :D

  1. It started BEFORE simblr.
  2. Hate waiting? Download Adfly Skipper.
  3. Worried about threats? Most spyware apps are free.
  4. Don’t like it? Don’t download it, there are still plenty of creators who don’t use it.
  5. Ya’ll are already paying for the game, Expansion Packs, Game Packs, and Stuff Packs, but ya’ll gonna complain cause you gotta wait a few seconds to give someone a few pennies ( NOT out of your own pocket btw ) for something you couldn’t make yourself. 8D

I completely agree with all these comments! Freelance is popular when it comes to the 3d world. Unless you work for TSR, you can’t really profit off the hard work you put into Sims. I feel like that’s why a lot of creators move to second life, because you have full credit over your meshes and you’re able to make a living off of it. Successful designers make around 20K to 40K a year. Sims is a fantastic game, and custom content has always been there to make it even more enjoyable. However, creators are making everything free, and lose a lot of the credit as well. It’s nice to be able to give something back if you can. I don’t think it’s greedy when creators ask for money. Creating for the sims is a hobby for most people, so giving them a couple of dollars is just a way we can show our appreciation.

If I give you my SL username, will you help me in Second Life please? I'm a noob :(

It’s probably easier to just message me! My username is GeishaSL ~ Just say you’re from the sims community and you’re looking for help

Is it hard being a newbie in SL?

If you don’t have anyone to help you, then Yes.

Trying to figure everything out by yourself can be very confusing :(

I swear you have a GeishaSL tumblr or is it just my imagination? Lol.

I had another tumblr called geishagesu, but I decided to just merge my second life tumblr with my sims one ~ making it a general gaming blog

I really want a custom mesh head but I'm not really good at this stuff, like ordering or whatever? Could you explain it a bit more, please?

For sure! I recommended milan and jourdan

So message @milanjones or @jourdanmcmillan inworld and ask if they’re taking clients, if they say yes, then ask for their prices and info cards. You’ll then fill out the application they give you with what skintone you want, who the head is based off (model, celebrity, actress/actor), and what kind of makeups, hair bases you want too.

Is Second Life boring? Some people say it is if you don't use your creativity and imagination?

My opinion may be biased, but no, I think second life is very entertaining. While second life really does have benefits for those who like to use creativity and imagination, you can definitely still have a good time just talking to friends.

There’s tons of stuff you can do in second life that doesn’t require creativity. When my friends are bored, we usually play games together. My favourite game is called fright, where its basically a hide n seek. Our avatars are in this haunted house and one of us is the killer, and basically we have to run away before whoever is the killer that round kills us.

Do you prefer The Sims 3 or Second Life?

From a creators perspective, I prefer Second Life more! I no longer have to worry about polycount, I can use multiply UVs/textures, and I can make money off the stuff I release. (Also, it’s a lot more social) ^__^

where do you usually get your hair?

Little Bones, Truth, Lelutka, Fiore, Rowne, Rebel Gal, Lamb, ISON, and Taketomi!

What do you think about the people who convert TS3 Hairs to Second Life? Personally, I don't like it because it's made for TS3 and should stay in the sims 3.

I don’t like it either. Little Bones, one of the famous hair creators in second life actually made a post along time ago telling people to stop doing it/stop supporting it. But also, sims hair looks a lot prettier in sims

Do you know a good shop to get mesh heads? -Urgent-

For High fashiony mesh heads, definitely fiore and rowne! Fiore has a whole mesh head update coming out December 20th

However, I get my heads custom made, and there’s people in SL who can make you heads, but they don’t come cheap :( Prices range from 30K lindens, 80K lindens or even higher. Which is like starting at $150 going up to $500 or even more

You can look at Sanya’s flickr for the different fiore heads ~here, the landmark to get to her store is ~here

And Fashionboi’s flickr is ~here and the landmark to rowne is ~here

If you’re looking for a custom head artist, id recommend jourdan and milan

There’s other mesh head creators too! some with more cutie looks like genesis labs

Also there’s mesh head attachments where you can buy different skins and makeup like Lelutka, and Catwa

If you need help you’re free to message again or message me inworld @GeishaSL ^___^ Best of luck! Hope this helped a little
