Sites I visit when I need a mental break

These are what I use when I need a break at work or from studying. I like them because they usually take just enough time for me to enjoy without feeling super guilty.

Commaful: stories are super short and perfect for quick breaks. they have everything from fanfiction to poetry. try to stick to just one tho otherwise you’ll get sucked in Bouncy Balls: Bounce balls. The most mindless thing ever. just bouncy, bouncy, bouncy Mental Floss: learn epic stuff. you’ll learn everything from pop culture to tech to history and more!! short and fun Don’t Even Reply: I started reading this and couldn’t stop laughing at work…it’s some dude trolling people on craigslist. i can’t….stop….laughing…. This Is My Website Now: Fun little games, takes just a few minutes but great for a break Oddee: REALLY REALLY weird stories Pixel Thoughts: this is more when you have a tough day or a rough time. a short little meditation fixes everything right up! Silk: Create dreamy works of art with your mouse. Have fun subconsciously drawing genitalia. Akinator, The Web Genius: This magical genie thing that is stuck in your computer and can read minds. It was 2/3 for me. not bad!

WARNING: I am not responsible for late homework assignments, missed quotes, or deadlines

I read Commaful and Don’t Even Reply every day lmao. reddit is also really good

this is fantastic now children in Puerto Rico wont be able to receive the education they deserve thanks to their messed up government

Its even worse than that. I’m living through it. Not only are schools closing, hospitals are collapsing. Only around 9% of the island has electricity and it comes and goes at times.

People are dying in hospitals because of lack of diesel for the generators, a lot of the water is now infected, there are disease outbreaks and scareceness of food. I am safe, but many are not.

Some have water, others don’t. We need help. Sending money would be helpful but what would help even more would be sending water filters, filtering water bottles, food, medicine, if somehow possible diesel.

All of you reblogging this news helps, but what we need is physical help. If you can’t, then spread the word, but God if you can send supplies… Please… PLEASE do. We are dying. Help us, help us save ourselves. Help us save our people. Help us save out ISLAND.

If you’re not in a position to ship or transport useful items to the island (which is sure as heck the case for me in New Zealand) then the best thing you can do is give money to a reputable relief organisation operating in the area.

Choose the fundraiser you want from the dropdown menu in the “Your Information” section (as you can see from the picture they have several).

Please help me heal my itchy body

Due to clinical negligence my life has fallen to shambles. Im suffering from a condition called Topical Steroid withdrawal which is completely preventable. Topical Steroid withdrawal is caused by abuse of topical steroids like cortisone which was allowed to happen because of neglect of warning from medical doctors about the proper use of creams like these.

Many people like me are suffering in silence because dermatologists are trained to deny the existence of this condition. There are many Facebook groups and forums of fellow sufferers. (Please feel free to research)

Even though I’m plagued with full body and other internal symptoms like adrenal fatigue and Irritable Bowel Syndrome, my family is still very dependent on me to pay bills and unfortunately we’ve fallen a bit behind. Due to my condition I’ve had to take time off of work which greatly diminished our household income. Proceeds would go toward catching up on our utilities and natural treatments to help treat my skin. Thank you for taking the time to read! God Bless You!

Facebook shares are also welcome! Also, than you to the 2 ladies that donated today ☺️

just realized that everybody probably thinks im a boy!?!? lol This is what i looked like in the beginning stages of my condition. Hair was thin, skin super itchy, but no rash yet:

Also: Please DO NOT use hydrocortisone on your child’s skin as a first resort!

hi puerto rico is dead

IRMA JUST LEFT AND NOW MARIA IS ON HER WAY AND SHES GOING TO SLICE RIGHT THROUGH THE CENTER OF THE ISLAND AS A CAT3/4. We haven’t even gotten over the damages with irma yet and some people STILL dont have water or power and now we’re getting hit with something thats going to be even worse for us PLEASE PLEASE pray for puerto rico and the caribbean because this shit is serious

As of 9/18 Maria is now a CAT5.

If you are able, donating money is one of the most efficient ways to help in a time of crisis.

After a cursory search these are a few charities that are helping with hurricane relief and are highly rated on charity navigator. International Medical Corps, Direct Relief, Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago, Heart to Heart International, and Helping Hand for Relief and Development

Feel free to add more/let me know if some of the ones I listed are not using funds appropriately.

hello i am Puerto Rican and i will say this:

The Taller Salud fund is in paypal and its this one. PLEASE PLEASE DONATE TO THEM!!! These families DO NOT HAVE HOMES and will pass hurricane María in shelters as refugees. Taller Salud is also HIGHLY TRUSTED among Puerto Ricans.

This is the only monetary fund I know of helping Puerto Ricans, since other monetary funds are via a service only available on the Island called ATH Movíl (Mobile Debit) or via the local bank. There will probably be more set up after the passage of the hurricane, and if i have internet ill try to update this post.

Furthermore, the way donations after disasters work here is by donating objects, important first aid items, food, and service. Donations here do not tend to be monetary, so i’d be wary of donating to organizations that are international and say they will help here, bc they might not. But then again, we’ve literally never seen a natural disaster of this kind so….. I do not know.

I wouldn’t normally ask for something like this, but the situation is quite serious. Mexico suffered another catastrophic earthquake that already has taken many lives and the death toll is expected to rise.

Please donate to Topos, a rescue team that was formed during the 1985 earthquake in Mexico City and has helped many other countries during catastrophes. YOU CAN HELP EVEN IF YOU AREN’T IN MEXICO. Your dollars are worth almost double in Mexico, so something small as $15 has a big impact. If you can donate, you can do it directly here: Paypal: donativos@brigada-rescate-topos.org

or visit www.topos.mx If you can’t donate, please share with any friends or family that are interested in helping. The people from my country would appreciate it a lot. Thank you and lots of love!

Also, if you can’t donate money but want to help, you can donate food, water, dog food, and clothes. Red Cross Mexico, Oxfam Mexico, and Save the Children Mexico is a way to get resources flowing. Smaller nonprofits like Project Paz are also collecting donations for earthquake relief.

Visit:

and if you are local, there are different places all over where you can donate. You can find the nearest place here/ si eres local, puedes donar en los diferentes centros de acopio. Puedes encontrar el más cercano aquí:

This our library here in Spring, Texas, in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. When I think of people who have lost everything, I hate how sad I feel about a library. But this is where I’ve taken my kids for story time since they were infants. It’s where I’ve met my closest mom friends. It’s a place that means the world to me. But beyond that, this is a place that my community needs. It offers free educational programming, resources, information, language classes, Internet, human connection, a place that is clean and safe, free lunches for kids in the summer when school is out. It’s not just a bunch of books. For some people, the library is their only access to these things.

You can donate to the Texas Library Association’s disaster recovery fund here:

This may not be as pressing a need as shelter and food right now, but in the coming future, libraries will be critical centers of information-sharing to their communities.  They will help people connect to all the resources they need to rebuild their lives.

PLEASE HELP ME BUY FOOD!!

Hey Tumblr

I’m a mentally ill, 20+ year old who is in a horribly desperate situation and I’m really sorry to post ‘another’ one of these but, I really, really need money to buy food/toiletries.  As many know, I have been on benefit’s which were suspended for 6 weeks due to me being rejected for a job because of my mental health. I get paid on the 25th which will be just under £200, all of which will need to go to my rent for the month of August. *I’m already going to court on the 1st of August about my rent arrears, so I can’t afford not to pay it*. I also have a nutrient deficiency from lack of proper food, so I really, really need help. The few amazing people who have donated to me have allowed me to eat thus far, but without any further help, I won’t make it. And I can’t get any help from anywhere else e.g food banks/government.

And Tumblr, I know this is a lot to ask but if you can spare a few £’s/$’s to help me buy some food/toiletries it would mean the world to me.

PayPal.me is the best option for me https://www.paypal.me/Gemzy and for $/€ donations, gemma.mcdonald90@gmail.com or via the PayPal icon on my blog. Even if you can’t donate please, please signal boost this in hopes that someone else may be able to. Thank you ❤❤❤
