forever hold your peace; chapter 30

I’d been hanging off Harry and his impassioned words so intently, only for them to halt promptly in their tracks. It was like slow motion, his sudden pause and the way his jaw suddenly tightened up, the way he released the light grasp he’d had on my cheeks to straighten up. His gaze wasn’t on me anymore, instead trained right behind me where upon turning around I saw that Zayn had just come out of my bedroom with his joggers hung low and sleep still present in his eyes.
I was in trouble.

“It’s only a matter of time before I end up doing something fucked and you end up throwing me away,” My candid nature is the only thing that would allow me to say these things. That and the weed still in my system, it was giving me confidence that I very well shouldn’t have had. “I’m no good for you. If tonight doesn’t prove it then I don’t know what does.”
Harry pressed his lips into a tight line, eyes meeting mine. “Do you really think that?”
“If I didn’t I wouldn’t have said it,” I confessed before going onto another whisper-toned admittance. “I’m also kind of high, so yeah. I’m saying things that maybe I shouldn’t. I should shut up now, really I should.”
“You shouldn’t think like that,” Harry clearly didn’t care whether I was high or not, more focused on what I’d said beforehand. “I have no intention on throwing you away, so you don’t have to worry about that.”
“You say that now, but I always do something that ends up fucking things. I wonder what it’ll be with you,” I pulled away from his gaze, turning to look at his stainless steel refrigerator. Anything could have been better than the look that Harry was giving me currently. “I am.. a certified fuck up. Ask anyone.”
“Hey,” Harry reached up so he could tuck my hair behind my ear. “I can’t believe I’m hearing this from you, confident as you are. You’re hardly a fuck up. You’re actually one of the most put together people that I’ve ever met.”
“That’s what you think,” I pointed a finger into his chest multiple times until I let my hand fall back into my lap, playing with one of the rings on my thumb. “I’m not as great as I seem, Harry.”
“I think you’re brilliant,” He gave me a halfhearted smile, his thumb feathering over my jawline. “And I like having you around, if that’s alright with you.”

ho ho ho, and a bottle of rum: a forever hold your peace christmas drabble

long time, huh? i know i suck in every way possible but i thought i’d grant a little christmas miracle with a christmas drabble that i started a very long time ago. after a little tweaking i was finally able to make it work and am ready to share it with you all now! so without further ado, here is a little 5k+ non-canon christmas drabble full of santa, booze, and the lovely fhyp gang. hope you all missed them as much as i have, and happy holidays!

Christmastime was meant to be the most wonderful time of the year – there were only hundreds of songs written in its honor. This was when happiness was meant to linger in the air along with that hint of holiday magic that couldn’t bring anyone down. Birdy Thomas liked to believe that she could feel that magic of the holidays whenever December finally rolled around, when she finally got to see the people she loved at their most festive. But despite the joy and jubilance of Christmas, there was nothing that could have gotten the scowl off her face at that very moment. Why was it there one might have asked? None other than the holly, jolly Santa Claus himself.

(Well, the one at the Westfield Shopping Centre anyway.)

OH MY GOD YOU ARE BACK I CANT!! I stopped being on tumblr a while ago but I would always check your blog because fhyp is just one of my all time favorites! And the last post would always be that gif set of Harry with Lenny kravitz and one ask I think. So can you imagine my face when I saw the update with Chapter 29?!?!? 😱😱😱 i was so happy so excited to read and Girl I am really sad now but the chapters were amazing!! Cant wait for the epilogue. Although I am sad that the story is ending❤️❤️❤️

ohhh my god i read the first twenty-something fhyp chapters like almost 2 years ago or something and figured that you were never going to finish the fic but i always checked your blog from time to time JUST in case and i ended up doing that last night after a breakfast-related buzzfeed quiz (of all things) reminded me of the fic and like. the joy of discovering that you had posted new chapters was just the loveliest thing, fhyp is definitely in my top 3 all time favorite fics :')

lol i swear this is my favorite thing, glad that a buzzfeed quiz brought you back to the story! i’d love to know more the details of that quiz though
