these are not cute quirks; woobifying an abuser so that you feel better about their abusive behavior or worse, justifying the abuse itself, is not acceptable. the idealization of abuser and victim ships is a gross misrepresentation of the actual real-life situations that play out every day. it completely ignores the consequences of making these behaviors and this abuse seem normal, expected, or tolerable.

physical abuse, mental abuse, emotional abuse, from subtle manipulations like gaslighting to outright physical violence, is not acceptable in any relationship, familial, platonic, or romantic.
