What’s wild about this to me is that we literally had something similar happen at work this week, where an unapproved change was made by a mechanical engineer that turned out to cause poor performance of the product, except we caught it during the design validation portion of the development process (two whole steps before production) and also the product we make is a fucking SD-WAN security appliance and the change affected how bright the LED light appears, not A FUCKING VEHICLE THAT CAN KILL PEOPLE and the change affects WHETHER THE ACCELERATOR WORKS.

I finally watched The Old Guard and tumblr did not adequately prepare me for how funny the van kiss scene actually is. Like I've seen whole gif sets of Joe's impromptu love poem but that's not the half of it.

Insane seeing people telling British trans people to "just move" like that's a good attitude to have or even viable for most people. Like. Do you not have any concept of things like community, or money? Even if I could afford to, I wouldn't want to drop my community to leave.

If you're trans in the UK, now is the time to find that community, fight against this shit, have each other's backs.

And learn to DIY, now, before they take away our healthcare completely and we're left with nothing

And there's really nowhere in Britain that is safe. And moving countries is a MAJOR undertaking if it is even possible in the first place

I'd like to say that there is safety here, the gov and mainstream media just don't want you to know that, they want you to give up and feel hopeless. I know I speak from a position of privelege as I live in a relatively big city and I'm involved in a good tight-knit trans community, but do not give up on finding your people because they will be closer than you think.

Safety is in community, it's in shared knowledge, it's in trans people having each other's back and keeping in contact, taking actions to benefit ourselves and fight back against the oppression.
