only you could make me come out of hiding on this site temporarily, and it's for the most important reason ever. happy birthday !! happy freaking birthday. I've barely had time to grasp that I'm 20, so I'm in no place to tell you how it feels, but all I can say is that I hope our twenties will be even better than our teens were.

I have to say that tumblr just deleted my draft I had for you and I'm really sad but it was basically just me being mushy so! The main point of what I wanted to say was that we always hope to have a constant source of joy in our lives, and I found it with you. We both went to a school for writing, but with you I'm reduced to cliches because I can't fully express my love. You'll always be a part of my life and I'll be part of yours if you'll have me. You're my best friend, there no matter what. You being my friend is somehow a debt I'll never be able to repay.

i’m posting this at exactly 9:11pm on May 5th, your birthtime. you’re twenty whole years old….i still can’t believe it. you have one day on me, and it shows tbh FLSDKFJLSK

so enough with the jokes. i’m here to say all the sappy, gushy, emotional stuff about how much i love you.

when we met in freshman year of high school, i knew my entire life had just changed. even though it was something as simple as you cleaning up the diet coke i spilled, the kindness you showed me in that moment put you in my head as someone to keep close. and as we got to know each other, through Gmail chats during our 3rd period, i only wanted you to be closer to me. there’s so much history in those four years of chats - losing them is one of my biggest regrets.

over time, we’ve had some struggles. some fights, some miscommunications, as any pair of best friends do. but we’ve pulled through all of them because at the end of the day, we both knew that the other was worth it. and i will never stop thinking that you are worth it all. i wish you were within driving distance, but you’re thriving at university and will be home for the summer very soon. and when we’re talking on the phone, it’s like you’re right there.

i love your jokes, i love the way you make me laugh like no one else can. i love your brain and how you inspire me to be better. you always have and you always will.

rhiannon, you’re my best friend for life and i love you more than words can say. thank you for always being my rock, and have the most amazing birthday ever.

my best friend and i met in freshman year of high school (that’s grade 9 for non-americans) when i transferred schools. i had some friends already at the school i transferred to and they wanted to introduce me to their friend group at lunch. so i went into the cafeteria w them and i saw a coke machine and went :o!!! and i went 2 buy a cherry coke but my dumb ass clicked on the diet coke button DKSKDKSK so like i sat down w them and i opened my coke and it SPILLED everywhere. so this brown haired girl w glasses immediately got up 2 get napkins and help me clean it up and she was like “btw i’m rhiannon” and that’s when it all began…nearly 6 years later and she’s still my best friend 🥺💞💖💝
