春·夏と2号連続でRISE表紙を描かせていただきました。⁡ I had the honour of illustrating the spring and summer consecutive issues of RISE. ⁡⁡ ⁡せっかく連続するならば何か対になる絵をという事で今回デザイナーさんからいただいたイメージは剣をかざして立つアレンと神田の勇姿というものでした。⁡ The designer said that if they were to be especially in succession, then to somehow make the illustrations into a pair, by giving me the image of the gallant figures of Allen and Kanda standing and holding up their swords. ⁡⁡ ⁡当初はふたりとも同じポーズの指示だったのですが、アレンと神田は同じ剣タイプのイノセンスといえど、形は大剣と日本刀。⁡ Initially, I was instructed to have them in the same pose, but even if Allen and Kanda are of the same Sword Innocence type, their shapes are those of a large sword and a Japanese sword. ⁡構えや持ち方が全く違うので、ポーズは私の考えるカッコいいものにちょっと変更。2枚目画像はその際のチェックをしてもらうために描いたラフです。 Since their stances and holds are completely different, the pose was slightly changed according to what I thought would be cool. ⁡⁡⁡ ⁡RISE表紙ではバラバラに掲載されていますが、対の雰囲気がでるように、紙は分けずに1枚の絵として作画していました。 Even though these covers of RISE were published separately, to give them the feeling of being a pair, they were drawn as one illustration.

少し前にアシスタントさんから「先生はアレンさんに似てます」と言われたのですが、え？似てる？どこが····？食い意地がはってるとこか····？偽善的なところ····？と色々考えてみたりしたのですが、褒め言葉として言ってくれたことは分かったのでありがたく受け取りました。 ⁡A little while ago, an assistant told me “Sensei is similar to Allen”, but eh? Similar? Where…? Is it that I eat like a glutton…? Hypocrisy? …or so I tried thinking in various ways. I know it was meant as praise, so I will gratefully take the compliment. ⁡⁡ ⁡今朝コロを撫でながらなんとなくその事を思い出して、そしたらなんだかアレンさんに笑いかけてもらいたくなったので描きました。⁡ Somehow I recalled that this morning while petting Koro, and then I kind of wanted to see Allen smiling at me, so I drew this. ⁡⁡ ⁡でもなんだか、平常心とは違う感覚で描いたから、少し、これが正解なのかよく分からない。⁡正解てなんだ·····⁡ But because I drew this with a different feeling than normal, I don’t really know if this is right. What even is “right”…
