Uh oh, Look out @orochihigh it’s the Kings Gang! You don’t want to mix it up with these guys. There’s Kingsley the black mexican king snake, Leroy the california kingsnake, Reagan the albino kingsnake and Rex the Southern Hognose. Because there is always a Hognose.

(Side note, I had to stop myself from drawing them all like greasers and teddy boys because apparently my idea of what a gang looks like is stuck in the 1950s XD)

Check out Orochi High for more school snake shenanigans! https://orochihigh.tumblr.com

Gabby Needs Surgery

https://www.youcaring.com/gabbytheboaconstrictor-993570 Please click the link above for my fundraiser, and consider sharing. I don’t really have words for how important this is to me.

Gabby was always my dream snake, and I followed her being sold to multiple owners for over a year before I finally had the chance to own her. I’ve had her for a few years now, and it seems like it might come to a heartbreaking end.

Earlier this year, she ovulated but did not have her eggs fertilized, which meant that she ended up laying a bunch of infertile eggs. Boas normally give live birth, but when the eggs are not fertilized, the infertile ova are miscarried/laid early and never develop into babies. Unknown to me, she retained two of these eggs, and they began causing an infection in her body.

We discovered the existence of the eggs and the infection after I paid $500 to have a full blood panel and x-rays done. We were going to try manual manipulation to remove the eggs, but they are too high up in her body to be removed without surgery. The surgery will cost $1,000-$1,200.

A year ago almost exactly, I was divorced from my abusive husband. I am now living on alimony, due to my mental illness, and inability to hold down a job. The cost of this surgery is over a month’s worth of alimony, and I can’t afford it. I will have to euthanize Gabby unless I can raise the money, because I can’t just let her slowly succumb to the infection being caused by these eggs. Euthanasia would be kinder.

I want to give her this chance. You should know that the surgery is risky, but it’s a chance. I want so much to do this for her. Even a dollar helps. I am trying to sell some of my things to be able to afford this.

The sooner the money is raised, the less risk there will be with the surgery. The longer she waits, the more risky it becomes. You can faintly see one of the eggs on the x-rays. It’s a very pale oval near her tail. The last name is different from mine because they still had my married name on file at the time of the x-rays.

Hey guys, Gabby has rallied, and my vet has offered to do the surgery for half the original cost, which means I am almost at my fundraising goal. Please continue to reblog, and donate if you can. She is scheduled for surgery this coming Tuesday at 8 a.m.
