hello again! its julian and eba with a proclaimed sequel of @yoisafebang, only with more hearts and roses.
if you participated in the original bang, welcome back! if this is your first time, welcome regardless, we’re glad to have you. like last time, this is an anti-run event, so the general rules apply. even then, we do promote an environment of encouragement and positivity.
links will be italicized and important information is bolded.
new rules and improvements upon our last event:
> fic word count minimum is now 5000 words.
> artists will choose only one work, unless it’s late in the choosing period, then you may choose one more and be expected to complete both pieces by the deadline.
>we will be collecting summaries and often contacting by email this time, so you must be comfortable sharing your email, whether you’re a writer, artist or beta. tumblr pms will still be utilized though, in case something is down.
>betas will be required this time for every writer. if you already have a personal beta, let us know, but we require and recommend to have someone to read your work over. its professional, at the least.
> finally, we will have check-in dates. by those dates, we will have to know about drop-outs and extensions.
scheduling has been extended significantly! yoivalentinesbang will run from november to most of february.
>sign-ups will last roughly six weeks, from the date of this being posted to december 13th. we are encouraging writers to settle on a plot and work on their fics as early as possible, even while being unclaimed. you should email us a summary after you’ve been approved. formatting should look like this:
title by author
pairing
estimated rating
estimated word count
summary
additional tags/warnings and any authors’s notes
>claiming will last from december 13th to the 27th, so two weeks. from the 23th to the end, artists will be allowed to choose an additional work.
>from here on, work on your pieces, and work together. we will check in on writers on january 31st for extensions, drop outs, and betas. artists will be checked on a week later on february 7th to see if their artwork is done or nearly done, and if they need extentions.
>in between, work hard and often. pace yourselves. plan to write X number of words a week to meet the deadlines. plan to do your sketch on these few days, and lining over this week, things like that. we all want our and each other’s best.
> we hope to post everything on the week of valentine’s day, february 14th. works will be queued up to post as they come or through the week.
and that’s it! we’re glad to be able to host another event, it was fun albeit a little stressful at times. again, welcome back anyone who completed the last bang, and we welcome newcomers. we hope every writer gets their writer, and everyone finishes on time. thank you for reading, and reblog to spread the word. even if you’re not participating, consider supporting all our participants’ work!
