I definitely am still writing it. It's almost done, and it's been almost done since 2021...I'm not really sure what happened, but for the last, like, two years my writing motivation has been completely gone. I did write a lot of the fic in 2021, and there were also a lot of months where I wasn't working on it at all. In 2022 and the first half of 2023 all I could do was pick at it sporadically every few months, never adding any new scenes. Every so often I'd be like OKAY THIS TIME I AM FINISHING IT FOR REALSIES and then not do that lol.
But lately I am BACK (we are so back) and I'm determined to actually do it this time. I've been filling in the last few missing scenes. I've been strengthening the narrative through-line. I've figured out my gaps in the plot. Rewatching Steins;Gate 0 (with a friend who's seeing it for the first time) is helping too. Come hell or high water I WILL finish and post it this year. I want to do it before the manga ends, too.
So yeah. For reasons I can't fully explain (I think it has to do with Steins;Gate 0 being a fundamentally flawed story and I'm not satisfied with that but that's not ALL of why. I've written my own plots I'm not happy with before), this fic has been unusually difficult for me; the most difficult to write fic yet. I thought for sure I'd have it posted in 2021. Then 2022. Now I'm really gunning for a 2023 release. Even if I don't make it, though, I'll keep working away at this fic until I'm satisfied with it.
Get excited though, because this is gonna be another 50k monster in 3 parts because I can't be normal.
