Today i spent my whole studying for IELTS at school. I think ฤฑ did pretty good job for today. And the sky gave me the best gift ๐

how to be more present๐
- take more moments throughout the day to just focus on your breathing.
- notice the things other people would normally just glance over.
- let go of expectations. holding onto expectations means that youโre holding onto an โidealizedโ or โperfectโ reality, which means that youโre not in the present. often we are left disappointed when these expectations are not met.
- be grateful for the things you have, and stop wishing for your life to be different.
- donโt sweat the small stuff. donโt dwell on the small unfortunate yet irrelevant moments that weโll most likely forget about!!
- notice the negative thoughts floating in your mind and replace them with loving ones.
- take one step at a time. you might not be where you want to be at the moment, but you will get there. and it might not feel like it, but youโre making progress.
- forget about the past and the future. many things such as shame or anxiety keep us pulled away from the current moment.
- take more time out of your day to do the things you love!!
- get away from the digital world more often.
- do self care! make sure to take care of your health, physical and mental before anything else.

What my morning has been looking like. Starting to feel unprepared for this exam ahhh.ย
tips to get your life back on track after a breakdownโข
- sleep. your body needs to rest. the average panic attack takes as much energy as running a half-marathon. let yourself rest. take a 20 minute nap. any longer and youโll hit your REM cycle, and youโll wake up worse off. after, youโll feel so much better.
- clean something. literally anything. a plate, a drawer, the whole mf bathroom. it doesnโt matter how much or how little. itโll make you feel more in control, and itโll make your surroundings more appropriate for recovery.
- get some fresh air. even just opening your window for a few hours will help. if you feel up to it, take a walk. take your dog. pick some flowers. cloudgaze. even just sit in your garden for a bit. your body will thrive off of non-stale air.ย
- eat and drink. I know for some people, myself included, this is Hard. itโs alright if all you can manage is a granola bar, or some cereal. anything is progress and will fuel your body. drink water if you can, but anything apart from alcohol will hydrate you.
- take a shower. I have clinical depression. have done since I was 12. I know how hard it is to take a shower. but it fucking helps. if you donโt do anything else off this list, do this. itโll help more than you know.
- talk to someone. I canโt stress this enough. humans are social creatures! we crave interaction. even the most introverted introvert needs to talk to someone. call your mom. text a buddy. skype your brother. chat to your local cashier. anything !! youโll feel less alone, and hopefully get some good serotontitty flowing.
- do something fun! same as above, itโll make u feel so much bette, and provide a distraction. some good options are writing, drawing, watching a movie, dancing - anything you enjoy!
- be kind to yourself. itโs okay if you relapsed, or if you had a bad day, or anything else. treat yourself gently. you wouldnโt so harsh to a friend in your situation. itโs gonna be okay.
if you canโt do all of these, itโs okay. there are better days ahead. this, too, will pass.
