Ok it's very funny to laugh at Tuxedo Mask for showing up and doing nothing, but his job was never to actually fight the monsters.

His job was just to show up and believe in Sailor Moon so overwhelmingly resolutely that she remembers she's a fucking demigod long enough for HER to fight the monsters.

Because she's the only one strong enough to do it in the first place, and in this regard Tuxedo Mask is the first example of being "Kenough" in this essay I will

Um tuxedo mask is the team tactics guy.

He his magic crew are rocks his job is to stay enough out of danger so he doesn't get himself killed so their future daughter can be born.

Given there are at least three queer couples in Our Flag Means Death, do you feel a bit of a coward re: the first series of Good Omens?

Given that I was adapting a book that already existed for my dead friend and collaborator who had asked me to adapt it faithfully as a last request, I don’t feel bad about doing what he asked at all. And with the overall Good Omens story I don’t feel like I’m in any competition with any other shows. Perhaps you will find what you were missing in Good Omens Season 2. Perhaps not. Wait and see.

can someone who knows transformers lore explain this please

its ok cybertron won

I still don’t understand please

The orange guy (Rung) reaches over the counter for a straw and in doing so he knocks over a guy’s drink. This leads to an argument that leads to a bar fight. Megatron was at the bar and even though he wasn’t involved in the fight he still ends up in jail. While in jail he gets beaten up by a guy (Whirl) and after getting beaten up he realizes that violence is a valid option for dealing with your problems and eventually the Autobot/Decepticon war starts which destroys Cybertron.

more specifically megatron was already a revolutionary polemicist who was firmly committed to pacifism until he was assaulted in prison, at which point he starts to consider other options

the same prison visit also brings orion pax (optimus prime) into contact with megatron’s writings, which contributes to his leftist awakening, and ultimately he ends up founding the autobots. who also aren’t exactly pacifists but. complicated

both groups were initially in conflict with the existing government before ending up turning against each other and destroying mcfucking everything for four million years while pissing off everyone else in the entire universe

You forgot to mention that the guy who knocked over the straw. Is God.

I hate how forgotten Rogue One is. It’s genuinely one of the best Star Wars movies to date. The lead characters all manage to stand out as individuals with stories of their own and the ending is an emotional roller coaster. This movie took a semi-plothole from way back in ANH and spun a story that enriched the franchise incredibly. R1 is how a “dark” SW movie should be done, taking a twist to the classic format and making it more grounded in the true perils of war while retaining the core messages of hope and (found) family.

You do you but personally I don't think the first two acts are really strong at all.

I personally hate stories where women are shown to "the heart" of the team but at the same time the rules don't apply to them is aggravating.

Jyn only cares about the empire doing her wrong because her dad is involved.

She doesn't grow or learn to really feel for the horror of the empire and the grow to see the need for the causes of the rebels.

The pin the hope speech on her basically because the movie decided she was the lead. And it not even that good of a speech.

The movie spends to much time getting the team together. It's bad guy is a freaking middle manager type not a threat. The cgi inserts of dead actors was completely not needed.

Like the move all you want but the movie could have used a few rewrites.

Make them a team from the start, have her be a rebel who loyal is questioned when it's found out her dad is building the deathstar. Have the team go on missions to prove her loyalty. Find out the death star is just about to be operational have them go to try to stop it.. holding out hope they can out of there with backup once it comes, only to realize that they have to have a new hope. That the data has to get out And die not knowing if it did. And it cuts the princess lea stand in out.

That could lead to the start of a new hope and a stronger jump from movie to movie. Instead of the first look at Lea as an adult is Lea looking starry-eyed out the window talking about hope. It would keep The first time we see her in the series is mouthing off to Vader.

found this off Twitter, idk the op but it’s important info. what happened is a funny meme but it’s also seriously important that people understand that the redditors were completely in their right to do this and they’re going to be slandered hard

I just want to add to this it's not that the Hegde fund shorted stock, they shorted 137% more then was ever available. They got caught.

Anonymous asked:

Can you indulge me please, given the recent pandemic why is it that artist or fanfic writers are slowing down their works? I ask because personally I believe this makes it a better opportunity to work faster, as something to distract from the gloomy reality occurring.

I'll indulge you, but I'm afraid you won't like my answer very much.

The reason authors and artists aren't working their asses off MORE is because this is a pandemic, not a vacation.

It's not 'extra free time' for everyone.

For many it's 'my grandfather just died of COVID' time.

For many, it's 'I got laid off and am desperately trying to look for a way not to get evicted' time.

For many, it's 'I'm isolated from my friends, family and other sources of inspiration, I'm at home alone trying to deal with the world at large collapsing' time.

It's time to go out and protest for their rights. It's time to fall into a depression because they can't pay for medicine, because they're worried about a loved one with an immunodeficiency, because they have to decide whether to pay full tuition for taking classes online, which isn't as easy to learn from and feels like a rip-off.

I feel like this needs to be reiterated - fanfiction and fanart USUALLY doesn't pay. It's a hobby. Most fanfic authors aren't armcandy to a wealthy millionaire, and they can't just ignore other important life necessities in order to keep updating their 50k coffeeshop AU. It's not a viable career, and it will not keep you afloat. And while yes, many use it as an escape, many also can't write when they aren't safe, secure and know where their next paycheck is coming from.

So I'm not very surprised many creators are taking time away. They have lives, loved ones, other responsibilities, and at least one of those three is very likely a clusterfuck right now. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Be kind. Always assume everyone is doing their best. You never know what someone else might be going through.
