Headcanon that Roman can lift all the other sides Princess Style ™ and each side reacts as such:

Hey, Tumblr I’m really sorry to have to make another one of these posts but, I’m still really struggling to make ends meet, get food and keep my meters on during this horrible month and on top of that, my rent is due soon (31st). Long story short, I’m currently on benefits and just before Christmas, my benefit was sanctioned and reassessed due to my mental illnesses, my U.C benefit comes back at the end of January, which will be just under £200 (most of which will go towards paying my rent and overdue bills) and I won’t receive any other sort of financial aid until the end of February.  So, my theory for the next Sanders Sides, is that lying/dishonesty is going to be a new side, mostly due to this moment from Moving On part 2.

 If this so happens to be the case, please imagine with me if you will.

 Dishonesty only speaks in lies.

 At first they are little white lies, lies that are almost funny, amusing and just plain obvious. Things like, “My name is Patton!” “Thomas likes girls!” “Logan eats books!” Everyone finds it funny, until Dishonesty starts saying things like;

 “Patton doesn’t think he can’t be sad.”

 “Virgil isn’t scared about being outcasted again.”

 “Logan isn’t scared of the feelings that he definitely doesn’t have.”

 “Roman loves himself.”

 Quality angst material right there.

Something I need to add to this because I couldn’t get it out of my head since I saw this theory:

If the new side is indeed Lying/Dishonesty, there is a chance we probably wouldn’t even know it.

Because there’s nothing stopping a liar from lying about his own identity, or pass as someone else.

 After we’ve met all of them, something big happens. Like, bad big. Thomas is feeling bad and he goes to talk with his sides…only to see the Dark ones in their places.

THATS BECAUSE A LOT OF THE TIMES, WHEN WE USE DECEIT OR WHEN WE LIE, WE ARENT LOGICAL ABOUT IT. It’s also possible that he turned into Patton because he figured he’d be the easiest to impersonate. The others trust Patton to make good choices and at the very least they expect him to do what’s best for Thomas. He’s Thomas’ Morality after all.

Also emotions can be tricky, but Deceit is built on that. Deceit as a concept is, to some extent, created from learning how to best contort other people’s wills to your own whilst making them think it’s their idea. It goes hand-in-hand with manipulation.

Patton understands how he can make people feel better through emotions and uses his knowledge for good. The others wouldn’t have a reason to doubt any of Patton’s compliments or comments and I feel like that played a huge role in why Deceit chose to impersonate Patton.

i totally agree with this. i definitely think a big part was the fact that deceit knew he could impersonate patton very easily without drawing suspicion. he needed someone who controls what is right and wrong — he needed thomas’ morality.

again, that might be why he wanted to be director so badly; because he wanted to be in control. roman could’ve ultimately given deceit!patton the position because he figured it’d make sense: patton knew what was right and what was wrong, therefore roman trusted patton could direct them in the right direction.

True and I also want to point out how disgustingly sly Deceit was in setting this whole thing up. He knew he wanted to direct the whole lying scenario. He gave Thomas the idea to lie in the first place, gave Roman the idea of making it an acting exercise, and from there he took his role as director.

There were no coincidences in that course of events. He wanted something done and he nearly got it. He mentioned a “stage” knowing it would spark Roman’s creativity and lead to the staged scenarios. If he hadn’t been found out, he would’ve gotten his way and had Thomas lie to Joan, but he got careless and cocky.

...I haven’t seen this mentioned yet, so

When Deceit is revealed, he isn’t looking at the camera- or at Thomas.

He’s looking right at Virgil.

And Virgil is glaring right back.
