Esoteric but hopefully relatable approach: First, imagine a house. Not necessarily your actual house, if your financial situation isn’t great right now, nor does it need to be a mansion. Just a comfortable house with enough room for you to live and do everything you want to spend your life doing in it. If you were to clone yourself or create life-sized dummies of yourself and pack them all into this house, how many would fit? Or perhaps you can calculate it. If you know that the amount of square space you take up is roughly, say, two and a half square feet, how many square feet is this comfortable house? Now, imagine a hotel room. A comfortable room, you wouldn’t want to live there long term, but it’s fine for a week or two while you’re traveling or attending a conference or something. How many “yous” can you stuff in there? Or how many square feet is it, relative to how much space you take up? Now look back up at those enclosures. The top ones are hotel rooms, and the bottom ones are houses. If you were to scale up the various animals to human sized, you can see which enclosures would only scale up to about the size of a hotel room, and which would scale up to a small house.
