QUESTION: Why is Mulder wearing a tank top in bed when Scully is clearly not wearing any top at all?

ANSWER: After Mulder and Scully exhausted themselves with sexytimes and finally decided to go to sleep, Mulder found himself all bare. It’s obviously very cold in that hotel room or Scully would not be all bundled up in that sheet while afterglowing in bed with Mulder. So Mulder pulled on his tank top for some minimal warmth since that was all he had and since he knew how cold the room was and how much Scully tends to thoroughly hog the covers since there have been a large number of tests done on that subject in the unremarkable house.

The tank top going on also allows for this scene of the tank top coming off, which is incredibly critical for the audience (and Scully) to see.

Thank you for your time in exploring this very important “Plus One” headcanon of why Mulder is wearing a shirt in bed with an apparently undressed Scully.
