Please check the email address that you included in your application information! And remember to check the spam folder/trash can too in case you haven’t received anything, or then just throw something my way (either here or beybladezine@gmail.com or on twitter) and we can sort out why you didn’t receive yours.

This also means that the tentative deadline for all art and fics is now August 20th! This may be extended if multiple people are interested in submitting more than one work and would like it extended, but you can expect it to be somewhere at the end of August anyway.

I hope to receive some kind of sign of life from all participants soon so I can put together a post listing all our contributors! If someone just kind of disappears from the face of Earth and never replies to me, I will take it as withdrawing from the project.

Also, one of the participants asked me about setting up a group chat (on Discord or so) for the zine so that people could discuss what they’re going to make and avoid two pieces ending up too similar or such. Please tell me if you’re interested in this kind of thing! I wouldn’t mind setting one up.

Hey everyone, in case someone’s been hesitating up to this point, today is your last chance to apply for the Bakuten Shoot Beyblade fanzine!

The schedule from tomorrow onwards is that I (mod Misi) will go through all the applicaitons, sort out who gets to draw or write which season and look a bit at the character preferences, then send everyone a follow-up email that includes your assigned season and a potential recommendation for which character(s) to focus on (it’s not really a rule, just some advice to even out which characters are represented in the zine, but if you’re really feeling like working on another character instead, that’s fine too). For now I’ve given myself one week to get this done, so don’t worry if you don’t receive a follow-up email immediately! There will be another post on this blog once I’ve sent everyone their messages so you’ll know if yours got lost somewhere.

Schedule-wise the two-month period for creating all the fic and artwork will start once I’ve made the post about all follow-up emails having been sent, but technically you’re free to start working on yours as soon as you know what your subject matter is.

The planned schedule is to then give everyone two months to finish their art and writing and submit it by email, so the deadline would be somewhere in mid-August, but this can be still changed at this point – if you feel like you need more time, feel free to say so!
