Sure, she hadn’t been taking the best care of herself, but admitting that would mean defeat. Kailee lookedover at Sam with wide, tired eyes that seemed to both struggle to stay open and look at everything in rapid succession at the very same time.
It was impossible, but so was their lives.
“I can’t lose him. I won’t stop until I find him. Do you understand, Sam? I already lost my brother, I won’t lose him, too. I don’t care what he looks like or where he is, I just need him, and sleep is irrelevant if he needs me.”
“Kailee, I get it. Trust me, I do. We’re hunters, losing people is basically all we do, and when you’re trying not to lose one of the few people that actually make life worth it--”
He trailed off, voice rough as he ran a shaky hand through his hair. They were both looking for someone, both looking for a person they couldn’t live without. And the worst of it was, there was a pretty good chance, he knew, that finding one would mean the other wasn’t around anymore. Campbell was a stubborn creature, not to be forced out of a host without a fight, and Dean was downright scary when he wanted to be. What were the chances, really, that the both of them were alive and well?
He shook his head, as though he could physically dislodge the unwanted thoughts, “but that doesn’t change the fact that you need to take care of yourself. You’re not going to be able to find him if you can’t even stand up.”

She smiles, patting his back a little, “It’s okay, really, i’m used to it. It’s a nice feeling.”
She squeezes his shoulder a little, “I’m off in about an hour, but i’ll stick around until you can see him. He’ll have a different doctor once he’s out of the surgical wing, but if you need anything, just ask the nurse and i’ll make time for you.”
“Well, I’m glad to know it wasn’t too much. I’d hate to frighten off my brother’s gorgeous doctor.”
He blushed, coughing into his fist as he ran a hand through his hair, “I mean, I’m sure he’s going to be pumped to meet you, thank you for saving his life, and all that.”

Very believable, well done. The lack of uniform, coupled with the rifle slung over his shoulder, probably sold that lie really well. Way to think on your feet, idiot.

You’re not up for this, I know you’re not feeling well, you need to rest, for god’s sake I haven’t seen you sleep in days.
The words died on his tongue as he saw the stubborn set of her jaw. As much as she would have hated the comparison, he was so much like Dean when she got like this. Arguing with her wouldn’t do anything--except perhaps make her more likely to run out and do something reckless. All he could do was try to stay by her side and make sure she didn’t get hurt.
“Nevermind. I’m coming with you.”

you could be sad about your otp but consider:
- one making awful breakfast for the other and the other eating it because they appreciate it that much
- one putting their ridiculous music on in the car and singing along while the other sits in the passenger seat with their head in their hands
- the two of them going down to the beach and one getting sunburned really badly so the other slathers them with aloe gel when they get home
- one getting home from work later than the other and stretching out on top of them like a big lazy cat while they sit on the couch in front of the tv
- one inexplicably bringing home an animal and refusing to drop it at the shelter so they and the other have to take care of it
- the both of them going out to a park and getting ice cream to sit with and eat on a bench
- one sending memes to the other while they’re at work so much they turn their phone off in exasperation
- one giving the other their jacket and not getting it back from the other until it stops smelling like them
