I do not recognize myself anymore. I guess it's time to create a new version of me.

I know people typically try to make veganism into a “white thing,” but I can’t help but notice how many people of color are vegan/vegetarian. Israel, Taiwan, and India have some of the highest vegetarian populations, with each having populations made up of primarily people of color. Israel also has the highest percentage of vegans. Then there’s Jamaica, a primarily black country, that definitely has culture in plant based diets and lifestyle in it’s Rastafarians(though the Rastafarian population percentage wise is admittedly low). In personal experience, plant based and even ethical veganism tends to actually be pretty accepted in the black community as well after a discussion is made(I can’t speak for other people of color though). For me, it is such a weird concept to be argued that veganism is a white thing, especially considering… It’s not?
