I play a game called Chapters - it’s an interactive stories game. The one I just finished, Once Perfect left me really unsatisfied, both the happy and unhappy ending, so I’ve decided to write my whole ending, a whole sequel of an ending. I hope to write this so that you can enjoy it even if you haven’t read the book on Chapters.

You couldn’t believe the words that had come out of Mateo’s mouth. After the day you had had, being forced to serve on the men in his family – face his mother’s obvious disdain for you, watch as Leta was continuously put down by her family, whiteness her continued struggle in vain. You had seen his father’s wrath first time, had it directed at yourself. Through all of this, his family had done nothing. Mateo had acted as little more than a punch bag. And now? Now he wanted to break up with you as if you had done something wrong.

Eric hadn’t been lying when he told her they’d have a big day. Apparently, every aspect of the Coulter holiday season was filled with social events. Each day packed to the brim with other rich corporate families coming in and out of their home. It was a relief to finally escape for a walk, even if it was with a dozen other people, all who seemed more concerned with networking than with actually enjoying the amazing countryside Eric’s parents owned.

Throwback Thursday: Each to Their Own ~ Eric/OC

I’ve been going through and editing my old stories and I realised this one - One of my earliest and favourites - isn’t even in the masterlist. It is now, and I hope you all enjoy it. As always feedback, prompts and reviews are always welcome. 

A very short Eric/OC AU which is more my own wish to be going much harder than I am on the wattbike and probably just sounds strange to anyone who isn’t me. So a lot of fun….

Her whole body was drenched in sweat, to the point where she felt as if she were more water than flesh. Her head was spinning, and she was struggling to breathe, worst of all, however, was the spots which were distorting her vision, making her feel as if the world were spinning around her. She leaned against the bike she had just stepped off, struggling to breathe. She knew she had gone too hard, had pushed herself too far, but she needed to break her current PB, needed to see some real results in her training, she felt as if she had hit a plateau, and she hated it.

Eric was waiting for her at the bottom of the stairs. Shoulders squared she could not help but notice the tension that was all over him. Of course, tension on Eric only made his muscles bulge bigger. Still, she had never seen him looking quite so… uncomfortable before.

The smell of mulled wine filled the air, a huge vat of it sat at the centre of the room, courtesy of some well-meaning colleague who had no idea just how horrible work Christmas parties were. Another year’s reminder that despite all her hard work she was still stuck working as an associate, no better off and no more appreciated than she was last year. The most solved cases of all at her level and still the senior partner couldn’t get her name right.
