Indulge me for a second… Grayson x Art Forger/Dealer!Reader
| I’ve thought about this idea for weeks now and I will go bonkers if I don’t put it out there. So hear me out |
- Reader used to be a struggling artist that got into the business of art forging for the Elite of Piltover
- They met Mel at some art society and got introduced to a lot of her clients that way
- Nothing too crazy but ENOUGH to get them recognized in private circles and rake in some cash to get a taste of the high life
- SMASH CUT Sherrif Grayson is looking into some incidents that could incriminate some high level officials/high profile elites. Gets told to lay off and focus on some other matters but she doesn’t let up
- To get her off the case, they emphasize the security detail for this art gala/bidding type event. Sheriff doesn’t think it’s that big of a deal but to get them off her ass she oversees the event personally
- BACK TO THE READER They’re invited by Mel to said event, seeing this as a great opportunity to get some new clientele and bid in some art they go as Mel’s plus one
- At the event, Reader gets a bit tired of all the hustle and bustle of the event and go to a more secluded art exhibit to calm down. Trying to suck up to a bunch of entitled rich kids is tiring okay….
- Grayson having the same idea, officials nagging her about a bunch of insignificant complaints is also tiring
- The Reader and Grayson share a nice conversation about the exhibit, they might have known of eachother beforehand but have never had an actual conversation before. They open up a bit about the tiresome guests and send eachother some sideways glances….you know the type!
- SUDDENLY there’s a commotion in the main hall! Some claims are being thrown about that the painting up to bud is a FAKE!!
- Ruh Roh… Reader recognizes the painting as one of their own forgeries and decided to find Mel.
- Rich kids don’t like being made fools of. The painting has traded hands and the exact origin of it is abit muddy to recall, but they make a big fuss of it and call the Sheriff to make a thurough investigation.
- Two birds with one stone, Get Sheriff Grayson off the previous case and bring to justice a faulty art deal!!
- Grayson does the bare minimum of investigation because it seems like a waste but still goes along because of her sense of duty. She asks Mel a few questions about the gala and Mel recalls as best as she can. In an effort to help, she mentions reader as an expert in art analysis.
- Grayson then asks reader to help on the case because of their skills. Thus hilarity ensues!

As usual, apologies for any typoes/mistakes you might find, I might’ve decided to wing the entire proof-reading part and decide to impulsively toss an update up instead. The current word count for the project is 12.1k, though most of it is in character creation, & I haven’t quite figured out how to calculate average playthrough just yet!
