I really want to know where someone found this image? Was it in ATTLG and I just didn't see it? I want to watch the movie and find it now.

Please for the love of everything make a sequel to I love my love. Alice and Tarrant are amazing, and you wrote them so well. I would love to see more of their relationship and perhaps expanding the clan. I saw you hadn't been on in a while, fan fiction or live journal but I do see you use Tumblr much more

Aw, thank you! Writing that fic is what brought me back into fandom after a long absence. I wrote it in huge chunks at a ridiculous pace late at night, while I was grading a standardized test in Fort Collins. I have really fond memories of writing and posting that fic! I made some really lasting fandom friendships in the process (waves at @broomclosetkink). I’ve pretty much abandoned LJ and FF, but all my fic both old and new is posted to AO3, including a bunch of other AiW fic.

Saving Face (2012), acid attacks on women in Pakistan

Meanwhile, in America, feminists are complaining about how dress codes are oppressive.

You idiots have never experienced oppression, and pray you never do, because this is what it looks like.

As a South Asian American feminist, let me remind everyone that oppression is not a competition.

Just because we fight one type of sexism doesn’t mean we don’t care about other instances of sexism that don’t affect us directly in our day to day lives.

My heart goes out to this woman and the hundreds of other victims like her. I want to educate people about these kinds of incidents. I support organizations that help women like this.

You may think that dress code issues are trivial, but they are related to a larger issue of women’s bodily autonomy, which affects women’s health and safety.

So please, let’s try to bring awareness and bring about change instead of insulting entire groups of people because they are facing issues that are less scary than the one presented.

“oppression is not a competition”

thank you so much for this wording

Every time someone, usually a guy, complains about feminists not experiencing oppression, I can’t help but see what they are really trying to say.

“This is how men could be treating you, be grateful it’s only as bad as it is now.”

And that’s actually an attribute of abusers, I believe I read somewhere. To compare you to someone being treated worse and tell you you should be grateful you have it so good. It convinces the victim they should be silent in the face of their abuse.

It’s literally an abuse tactic.

Every time someone says something like, “You […] have never experienced oppression, and pray you never do, because this is what it looks like.” What they are saying is, “shut up, we could treat you worse if we wanted to.”

The world through the eyes of women. Thank you very much for summing it up. Yes it can always be worse but the fact someone tells you it could be worse, shut up and deal with it is like a man telling his wife he verbally abuses "would you rather have me hit you? No I didn't hit you I'm not some monster I just called you a (offensive name). You women are all emotional" so dealing with one kind of abuse is better than another? No abuse is abuse plain and simple. My heart goes out to women who are beaten, raped and have no rights in the world. The fact that women stand for things that are "trivial" to some men is because those men (not all) have never faced being opressed or told you can't do this because of your sex, they haven't been hit, verbally abused, discriminated all because you are a women. They dont know our pain and that even little things such as dress code in schools can lead to bigger things. We (women) are trying in America are trying to keep what we have fought for. We are trying to keep the little faults in our society at bay so they will not become something much bigger over time. White men in America were handed everything, black people and all women had to fight for something, to be humanized and equal in the eyes of white men. We will continue, not just women but all those who have been discriminated to keep what we have earned. If you can't see that then you are part of the problem.

Markiplier sold out so fast!!

I had to go to my first day at Wal-Mart for orientation, my younger brother was trying to find two seats for sale for markiplier's indianapolis panel and literally from the moment I got home, to the time I got changed out of my work clothes it was sold out. Holy fucking shit. God dammit!! Two years and I haven't been able to meet Mark once! *wailing cries* also my brother had surgery about a month ago to remove a nasal/brain tumor and this was something he wanted so bad, I feel terrible I couldn't get tickets fast enough for his sake. One day I'm fucking going to a con to see Mark, I'm taking my brother and we are going to have one helluva fucking time!! @markiplier

Jack:  I wish I had something to throw

Me:  Yeah that would probably help–

Jack:  Like a small child.

Me:  Wait wh–

Jack:  Or a basket of kittens.

Me:  stop.

But they would be a great distraction!!!
