I watched the tape. My impression was Perdue was itching for the moment when he could use, what he seemed to think, was a great joke. Wrong place, wrong audience, just horribly wrong. Trump said, “I know more about farming than anyone.”

Awful joke.

I went and researched a little more because the name Perdue lept out at me thanks to Perdue chicken, and it wouldnt surprise me that Trump would but a corporate creep in charge of Ag, but no relation. Still a dumbass, though.

Sonny Perdue is a former governor of Georgia, and you would think he'd know better than to tell a joke like that to a bunch of farmers.
