so i've been kind of bouncing around with mobile games, waiting for sinoalice, could you tell me a bit about epic seven? like how's the gacha(units, equipment, ect?), how's the combat, and any small or large gripes you kind of have with the game?

Since I told a mutual about this, I’m gonna make this post public in case people are interested.

So Epic Seven is pretty much a 2D anime RPG gacha game with some strategy involved. Combat wise, think of it like an MMO where you have 3 skills to spam but using them also puts them on a cooldown (just in a 2D format). So it is important to plan your attacks carefully.

Most characters also have their own unique animation when you use their ultimate skill. It’s always enjoyable to see.

Banner wise, they only feature one character per banner instead of multiple units. People can either choose to pull for them or save their gems for the limited banners.

Limited banner is what the name implies. These banners are special in the sense that the featured character will disappear forever once they’re gone. This screws new players over and the one thing I really don’t like about the game because not everyone plays this game when it first launched.

Limited banners also have a pity pull. Regular ones don’t.

Gacha rates are not the usual 3% you may be used to in other games. The chances of pulling a 5★ unit is 1.25% which is very low.

But here is the kicker:

3★ and 4★ units can outclass even natural 5★ characters if you gear them up right. For example, the best healer so far in the game is a 4★, not 5★. Most units in this game has a lot of potential to become top tier units so there is no need to fret if you don’t pull a 5★ character off the bat.

The game will also let you reroll 30 times once you finish chapter 1, stage 10. It’s great for new players because you can keep rerolling until you get a summon you like without the need to uninstall and reinstall the game (unless your luck is terrible then you’re gonna have to do that).

This selective rerolling is kinda like giving you a free 5★ unit in a way.

In terms of equipment, you don’t get these through banners. You get them through boss drops or by crafting.

There’s something called artifacts in this game which is basically…similar to an item you would give to your pokemon to hold that would aid them in battle.

(The unit and the artifact are both in the same pool so it sucks in that aspect)

Good thing is…most of the artifacts are incredibly useful, even the 3★ ones. The bad thing is the disappointment you get when you think you’re getting a 5★ unit only to see it’s an artifact instead.

Overall, I like that it’s somewhat unique from most gachas I’m used to.

My biggest complaint is the limited banners. I didn’t play this game when it came out so I missed the first limited character and there is no other chance for me to get her now.

EDIT :  I forgot to mention…it takes gold to unequip and equip gear. I really despise this function and according to devs, the reason they have this is because “the game would be boring without it” which is ridiculous.
