preface: In the heart of a large university stands a small coffee shop. The building is nestled between two dormitories, across the street is a park and the university’s library, creating the perfect environment for a student hotspot. Moonlight Cafe was founded by Moon Taeil and Lee Taeyong after they graduated from that very same university; during their student days, they were upset by the lack of good coffee places on campus, and decided to build a 24/7 coffee shop in the busiest intersection of the university.

Despite the coffee shop’s small size, inside lives a well-oiled morning crew that pumps out hundreds of cups of coffee just between the hours of 6 to 9am. Throughout the rest of the day, students, professors, and even people who have nothing to do with the university come into the cafe to try some of its delicious menu options, stare in awe at the great interior design, and live in the amazing ambience of the cafe. 

However, from the hours of 10pm to 5am, the coffee shop dwindles down in customers, only the most exhausted and desperate students coming in to order their 8-shot americanos and take advantage of the free wifi. Still, Taeil and Taeyong are determined to serve everyone a good cup of coffee at any time of day… or night. Which is why they hired you. Your experience in making coffee pleased Taeyong, and Taeil is sure that your personality fits in with the store. They hired you, gave you a short training session to make sure you’re ready, and then gave you the keys to the store for every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night.

You love your job and your bosses; it proves easier than you thought to manage a whole cafe for a night, and you’re a night owl anyway. It’s like your own special paradise: making coffee, studying in your free time, and getting to know your regulars, until a particular customer walks through the door one night….

i think renjun has a aquarius rising

ok so hear me out: i really think renjun has a aquarius rising.

after thinking a lot and reading many opinions about what renjun's rising could be, i changed my mind lots of times. for most part, i was determined (like most people) that renjun had a water rising - probably pisces or cancer rising -, but i recently read that apparently he said that he was born at dawn, so i decided to go with that. that would be around 4am to 6am and it narrows down to aquarius or pisces ascendant.

in my opinion, renjun was born at the last degrees of aquarius rising, what helps defining the rest of his houses. i'm not going to go deep into his chart here, but i'm going to mention the aspects of his chart that i think makes this placement makes sense! also, for this reading i'm going by 4:05am as his birth time.

i believe renjun has his aquarius rising in the latest degrees, what makes it mix up a little with the following sign, pisces. aquarius is known to be a humanitarian sign, that does well in social situations and tends to communities. aquarius is one os the signs most present in the charts of nct members - if not the most - but that was not the only reason why i think renjun has a aquarius rising.

renjun is very known for his self-confidence and assertiveness, which are aspects that a lot of people think are exclusive to fire signs, like aries, and yes, he does not only have a sun in aries but also his mars. but! there is other sides of him that i believe are truly aquarian. aquarius is an air sign, it rules technology, science and it's know to be very smart and independent in it's archetype, most times being even too quirky for having weird interests or a weird personality. i personally think renjun's interest in space and his intelligence come from here - being an air sign, he's also curious, smart, values knowledge and independence. renjun can speak chinese, korean, is also very good at english, a very good dancer and tried a bit of everything, not to mention his art!

however, doesn't matter how you see it or what birth time you put it, renjun will always have intercepted houses. intercepted houses are when 2 houses start in the same sign, meaning some signs will have no houses beginning in them, in his case pisces and virgo and 2 houses starting in the same signs, both cancer and capricorn. being a aquarius rising, he ends up with his 2nd house starting only in aries, after his sun. so we can say renjun has many qualities of pisces inside his 1st house (his rising), and it is even more significant since he also has 2 personal planets conjunct in pisces: mercury and venus.

while mercury is in it's fall and detriment in pisces (ie. not in a good condition), it is conjunct his exalted venus (ie. in an excellent condition). mercury is the planet of communication and it being conjunct to venus makes him good with words and expressing himself - that's also an aspect many nct members share, which is amusing since mercury also rules the voice so it can literally mean the person has a pretty voice.

both planets being in pisces makes renjun very gentle with his speech and the way he treats people, and venus being also the planet of beauty and arts explains why he is not only so artsy but also why we see so many qualities of pisces on him at first. in the 1st house, venus makes renjun extremely pretty with piscean traits: the softeness, the watery eyes, fairy-like features, dreamy look overall - just like taeyong or jaehyun, both pisces risings.

what is intriguing is that his aries sun is also in this first house. since he has so many intercepted houses, his 1st house ends up going until a little bit of aries, after his sun. for me that makes sense since it's not like his aries nature is hidden in another area of his life or anything. the 1st house is the house of appearance and first impressions and the sun is the ego - i believe we can see this side of him in less than 10 minutes of a video or something lmao.

so yeah, this is it. this is why i think renjun has an aquarius rising! of course, i didn't analyze the whole chart and probably a lot os things might be off but i was certain of 2 things when trying to predict his chart: he had venus in the 1st house and he was born at dawn. you work with what you can!
