Review—
First things first— although canonically their last meeting is with twelve, this was written during eleven’s run. I first tried to just imagine 12 but honestly it’s most enjoyable when you just pretend 12 isnt the last regeneration to see her.
I found the beginning to be a little OOC for the doctor. He is of course not emotionless, however he felt a little too mopey in the beginning. I think the doctors deep emotions are best told through actions and there was definitely more telling in this fic. However once the action picked up I found myself enjoying it much more, especially between River and the Doctor.
