I thinks folks expressing incredulity at the quality of the writing and composition in Calvin and Hobbes are often missing the context that Bill Watterson is arguably the most influential sequential artist of his generation. Like, this is a guy who once told the editors of nationally syndicated newspapers to go fuck themselves when they wanted to mess with his panel layouts, and not only did he keep his job, he got his way. He could have had literally any gig he wanted, and he chose to be the Sunday funnies guy because that's what made him happy. He's basically the Weird Al of sequential art.
Not only that, but he refused to take any licensing deals (which is where most of the money in ~Sunday Funnies~ comes from- why do you think they slap Garfield on everything that holds still long enough?).
Any Calvin and Hobbes merch you see is unauthorized/a bootleg/a fan creation. Yes, including those Pissing Calvin stickers that were everywhere for a while.

Competitive usage: A surprisingly good ability, Shed Skin gives the user a semi-reliable immunity to status, allowing them to set up stat boosts or use Rest without much consequence.
Of course, it’s not perfectly reliable, as that 33% chance could theoretically never happen. When paired with Rest though, they can heal themselves fully, and wake up after two turns even if Shed Skin doesn’t activate, mitigating any shortcomings.
Sure, it’s nothing exciting, and if anything a little gross, but Shed Skin goes a long way for a lot of very long Pokemon.

The section regarding injuries/scars has been changed to allow for scars on hatchlings, with the caveat that they will be under more scrutiny than adults. It is also specified that prostheses, mobility aids, and other disability aids do not violate this rule in.

TIL anyone who's going to overwinter in Antarctica has to have had their appendix out. Because removing an appendix that's not causing any trouble just as a precaution is way better than having one that's about to burst when you're on the ass-end of the planet with no way to be rushed to a hospital if shit gets real.
No, by the way, we absolutely did not think of this ahead of time. A dude named Leonid Rogozov got appendicitis in Antarctica. Fortunately, the expedition's doctor diagnosed him quickly and knew how to remove an appendix. Unfortunately, our man Leo was the expedition's doctor.
What did he do? Well, he set up a mirror, gave his belly a shot of novocaine, presumably told a colleague, "hold my vodka," and he removed his own fucking appendix. He survived.
It might be obvious, but just for the sake of it: this measure only avoids the risk of having peritonitis while stranded in Antarctica, and no other emergency condition that requires surgery. It is done solely because it's one of the very few surgeries that can be made safely in advance of an illness.
