SURPRISE is not oft experienced by the Elder , who has seen infinitely more than the average life form. But a man appearing suddenly in his throne room without warning is nothing if not startling , the people of his court retreating to the edges of the room and the guards going on the defensive. A moment’s hesitation passes before the Grandmaster rises from his seat , hand outstretched to still the guard so intent on protecting him and blue—lined eyes carefully examining the foreigner before him. “ You presume CORRECTLY , my friend. ” The tone spoken in is friendly , but there’s a caution to his approach —— a DISTRUST. After all , such a feat is not managed without a certain amount of POWER , and he does not take potential threats lightly. “ Don’t be , uh , so quick to—to leave. Tell me , where did you come from , and where are you going ? ”

Stephen isn’t MAJORLY bothered by the weapons pointed at him, but it’s not the most pleasant feeling in the world. He watches as the man clad in gold extends a hand, stopping his guards from taking aim as it looked like they might, and he relaxes somewhat at that. “Thank you,” He nods, his gaze briefly darting around to ensure ALL the guards have lowered their weapons for now, before he refocuses on the man who’s taken a step in his direction. “Since you asked so NICELY...” He’s not sure how he got here, and not his intended destination, but he’ll answer questions for now. So long as there’s no threat imposed on him. “I’m from New York... Earth? Since I don’t think that’s where I am now... And I was hoping to go to another realm, but it certainly wasn’t here.”

“Ah,” That blow to the head seems to have affected him quite a bit more than he’d realized-- this is decidedly not the Sanctum. His eyes land on the woman who’s home he’s accidentally invaded using his Sling-Ring, and he clears his throat. “Apologies for the intrusion, this is not where I was supposed to be-- Where exactly am I?”

“Thank you,” He hums, inclining his head to look over at her as she takes the sword into her hands and examines it. His arms fold across his chest as he allows her a moment to drink it in, his eyes following the sword for just a moment. “I see... Then let’s hope it doesn’t, hm?”

“Great. Thanks.” The great was sarcastic, but the thanks was not. He was sincere about that at least. Hopefully Stephen would also have a spell or something ready to go by the time the thing decided it wanted to tangle with them.

Danny leaned to and fro, swinging his arms back and forth to loosen his muscles.

“So. You think we can take it?”

Stephen’s lips threaten to tug upwards at that, noting the sarcasm tinted sincerity to his friend’s words. He casts a sideways glance at the man as he swings his arms, and does chuckle softly before he nods once.

“Certainly. We can take it. You punch it, I’ll bind it. That’s about as far as my plan goes for now, but if it goes pear shaped-- we’ll adjust accordingly.”

And by we Danny was pretty sure that Stephen meant Danny would run in and try to punch it- mystically - while Stephen hung back and did the magic that was unlikely to earn him two black eyes and a broken nose.

“Welp.” Not much to be done about it. Danny dusted his hands off on his knees. “Let me know when it starts coming this way. I’m gonna try to stretch out first.”

Thankfully, being Sorcerer Supreme means that he doesn’t always have to get up close and personal with these kinds of things. He doesn’t always manage to get out of it, of course, but when one has the Iron Fist at one’s disposal, one uses him.

“No problem. I’ll give you plenty of warning,” He hums, keeping an eye on the creature as Danny begins stretching himself.

okay, so; i managed to type up a few things but they’ve been drafted for now, and i’m going to collect up the rest of my replies/starters to be done tomorrow after work and rugby. but i can’t get much more done tonight because i’m exhausted and have to be in early tomorrow.
