Louise Brealey as Natasha in Birthday (2015) Part 2/8
Molly, just post med-school…
What if Sherlock has a more stable family than Molly?
The only thing we know about Molly’s is that her dad passed away. Her only Christmas plans were with Sherlock. Mycroft calls her in to the morgue later and she’s available.
What if Molly’s been searching for some sort of family and has found it with Sherlock. He has John, Mrs. Hudson, Lestrade, Mycroft, and loving parents. Molly has become a part of this dysfunctional family (remember that S3 promo pic). Sherlock is the glue that holds it all together and when he “died” it kind of split them all up. She had to watch all the people she cares about go through so much pain, and she wasn’t able to comfort them because she was keeping a secret. It must have been so difficult for her. Perhaps when she found Tom, she thought she could move on. She found someone she cares about that isn’t involved in any of this craziness and he’s a decent man. She later tells Sherlock that she’s met his friends and all his family. She’s found a new group of people that love and accept her. But when Sherlock returns, she realizes Tom is just a replacement. It’s not where her heart truly lies. And she misses all the craziness. She realizes that Sherlock is her “type”.
Also, I wonder if Sherlock’s parents know about Molly. They knew about his faked death. I’m sure he explained his plan to them. In TEH, they arrive the day after he spends with Molly. The day got cut short because Sherlock decides to let Molly go. Maybe he meant for it to continue. He asks her out to dinner after all. Maybe he had planned on introducing Molly to his parents: this is the woman who made it all possible.
Despite everything he says about love and marriage, Sherlock has parents that obviously love each other. I know there was supposedly some backstory about Mr. Holmes having an affair when he and Mycroft were young, but I think it got cut from TGG. From what we’ve seen of Mr. and Mrs. Holmes, they are a normal couple who are very much in love. Sherlock has a family, despite all their quirks, and maybe Molly doesn’t. But she’s found one in his.
Loki had switched Strange's shampoo in the shower for some that turned his hair pink. Loki was now reading in his room acting like nothing was his fault. (LOKI NO)
Uhnm? What the…?
