Hi there! I'm Mari and you've reached my aquarium blog, Aquariadise. I've been keeping fish for a few years, so feel free to ask me any questions about aquariums&fish you may have! Aquariadise

Holiday season is around the corner and it's once again time to remind you that PETS ARE NOT PRESENTS unless you and the recipient have had a nice long conversation about the care and responsibility that goes into keeping one.

Happy December imma say this again for those who walked in late

An aquarium set-up or equipment is a great gift for the fish lovers in your life - just don’t get them actual fish! Gift card for an aquarium store is always a hit too. 😉

This tank only gets direct sunlight in the fall and winter. I love the way natural sunlight really makes the colours of the fish pop!!

Hello, I've been searching for some time for phoenix egg fish without any luck. I saw some pictures of this breed on your tumblr so thought I'd ask. I live in Australia and that may be why I'm finding it so difficult. Anyway, thanks for listening or rather reading my rambling. Take care.

Hey! Yeah, those are definitely more uncommon fancy goldfish. I’ve never seen them myself even though I’ve visited plenty of aquarium expos that were attended by goldfish importers.

I really don’t have a clue where to find these in Australia but maybe a follower can give some pointers?

I haven't been able to find much info on this so, I'm hoping you know. if a snail dies will goldfish eat it? And if so would eating it be unhealthy or harmful for them?

Hey! There’s definitely a good chance that a goldfish will try to munch on it, yeah, they’re omnivores. It can be a problem if the snail is small and the shell gets stuck in the goldie’s throat, they’re definitely not smart enough to know that they can choke on stuff. Additionally, a dead creature will foul the water so it should be removed as soon as you see it.

But if your goldfish took some bites out of a dead snail, no worries, it should be fine. :)
