Hey! Just wondering why don't you like BMC? (i'm indifferent about the show)
It’s mostly just not my vibe. I don’t like a lot of the orchestrations and the lyrics annoy the hell out of me. Like, if I hear one more string bean twink singing Michael In the Bathroom, I will literally tear my fucking hair out
hot take: the reason why A Strange Loop hasn’t amassed a Tumblr following, despite winning the goddamn Pulitzer and edging out every Broadway musical for the Drama Desk nominations, is because themes of black and queer identity, an alienating structure, and deep cuts about white gay male tyranny are too difficult and mature for casual theatergoers to idolize and in this essay I will
Don’t mind me coming out of my hole to reblog this
Concept: Hadestown movie, directed by Guillermo Del Toro.

not technically stage door but during winter break i went to NYC and went to a vinyl signing event for moulin rouge. the first thing my mom said to Karen Olivo (my idol) was that i’m obsessed with her and i just went “you don’t say that” in the whiniest and most embarrassed voice and karen just laughed. i said other things to her and she was incredibly sweet but i very much regretted taking my mom with me in that moment
Oh my god I LOVE this. Family members who don’t know Broadway people are absolute loose cannons they can and will say ANYTHING to embarrass you.
I went with my grandpa to see Once on This Island on Broadway, and before the show I pointed to the poster with Merle Dandridge as Papa Ge and said to my grandpa “man she’s beautiful.” During the pre-show, as Merle walks by in character, my grandpa says “you’re right she IS hot” and in character she turned to him and went “what did you say?” And then he went “oh no my GRANDSON told me that” and she went to me and said “BE CAREFUL I HAVE A KNIFE.” I was EMBARRASSED and then at the stage door I MET MERLE DANDRIDGE AND I FORGOT SPECIFICALLY WHAT SHE SAID BUT SHE THOUGHT THE ENCOUNTER WAS FUNNY AND SHE WAS SO SWEET
Worst stage door was Lobby Hero. Evans tried to come out but the crowd was too much and then staff only had like 4 signed copies to give out. Second is Sunday in the Park with George. Jake didn't show (Hugh Jackman was there that night and I too would not stage door if I had Hugh waiting for me) but they didn't tell us until after midnight that he wasn't going to be out. Super cold and waited for hours.
1) Goddamn I feel bad for actors who work on shows with massive crowds
2) Ok that’s the fault of staff that was a massive dick move on the staff’s part fuck that I’m sorry dude
worst stage door experience was beetlejuice. There were so many people and people kept shoving and no one was listening to the ushers. I was also there late December and it started raining so I was miserable all throughout.
God Beetlejuice stans are cool and creative and shit but they can be a little much sometimes I’m sorry broski
