boomer: genuinely feels an utter disgust and disdain for his brothers & the way they treated him back when they were younger in townsville. from being bullied by them to being seen as nothing but weak and inferior... having the urge to prove them wrong & pay them back for all of the vile things they’ve ever done to him.

also boomer: would die for his brothers, however much he would never admit it. knowing that, at their deepest core, they did everything to make him see who he was truly meant to be. to shake any idea of goodness and peace from his fragile body. would protect them & will always love them til the very end, though it will forever go unspoken. knows that through the thickest & through the most thin, they will always have each other’s backs, end of story.

BOOMER JOJOΒ  +Β  WHAT IT MEANS TO BE EVIL.

what has always struck me as odd is that the writer’s decision to make boomer out to be the dumb blonde/dumb jock trope amongst a trio of terrors. do i understand him being a little bit dimwitted? sure. but this idea of boomer being stupid / not smart / not able to comprehend even the simplest of things? nah.

something that has always been clear to me the idea of alignments when it comes to the powerpuff girls ( &, thus, the rowdyruff boys ). i know that i have probably spoken about this in other posts, but to reiterate. in my mind, the girls represent the three sides of goodness. blossom is neutral good. she is the leader and the most clear minded. buttercup is chaotic good. doing what needs to be done for the better, even if that means causing more pain than necessary. and bubbles is lawful good. kind and always making sure her actions have solid standing… and that includes her inner fears and struggles being a stem of that need to keep the peace & maintain order, both for her sisters and herself.

with the rowdyruff boys, however, it is inverted. brick is neutral evil. still the leader but as vile as they come. butch is chaotic evil; violent and ready to destroy. that would make boomer lawful evil. calculated. never acting with making sure said actions are precisely how they should be. but what also comes into play with him is reason. it causes him to wonder, to think, to be uncertain… and that’s not okay. he has to know / he has to be sure. he is seen as the least hostile because he, at this moment, does not know why he is being such. he knows that he and his siblings were born to combat the powerpuff girls… but the question he needs answered is why. it’s stunting his inert evilness and it’s something he longs to figure out soon enough.

but, does it make him any less weak? definitely not. another aspect i enjoy is the idea of order vs chaos, specifically when it comes to butch and boomer. butch is a destroyer at heart. the baron of berserk wouldn’t be anything less. boomer, on the other hand, is a creator. no, creating does not equate to goodness. look at what happened when bubbles attempted to attack him with a ball of energy. out of nowhere, he created a baseball bat to combat what was thrown at him. with that in mind… i am of the mind that boomer has an inert reality warping ability. changing physics as need be, to suit his needs. it is FAR FROM an ability that he understands and probably never will. it manifests itself as a passive protective ability at the moment, keeping him out of danger or harm’s way.

now, one might be askingβ€¦Β β€˜okay, judas… but how does it come into play right now?’ well, his arc that i’ve created ( in collaboration with @moreruff/mason ) is that he will eventually come into his evilness. without revealing much, he will be the villain he is meant to be and it will be something the world will come to regret and fear. his first act, for reasons not discussed just yet, is that he will COMPLETELY destroy townsville. as in… population: zero. no ifs, ands, or buts about it. the good thing is…. this comes much in the future. but, it’s a testament to what he is to become and it’s something that i cannot wait to explore.
