clint barton aka HAWKEYE became the greatest sharpshooter known to man. then he joined the avengers. this is what he does when he’s not doing that. he lives in a building. bad guys want the building. they have fought, beaten up, bloodied, and deafened clint. now clint in his brother–the other greatest sharpshooter known to man–and his neighbours–who are just neighbours–have holed up and are ready for all hell to break loose. also: clint’s best friend lucky the dog and his protege kate—the other other greatest sharpshooter known to man—left him because he is a human crapsack. // indie, priv & sel 616 clint barton attempted by lati.

Guys.

Guys.

Guys.

GUYS.

Be patient with your rp partners.

I get it, we’re all human, we get impatient especially when we’re excited about something. But here’s the thing. We’ve all been there (and if you say otherwise I wanna know your magic trick). You need to try to be understanding. Even if your partner is having a flake moment it still doesn’t give you justification to be an asshole. Talk to them. Maybe there’s a reason they’re flaking. Maybe their muse is being a pain or maybe they’ve got writer’s block or maybe life is being a bitch. You don’t know. There are a billion different reasons as to why your rp partner isn’t doing replies and if they’re doing everyone else’s but yours there’s still a reason so again talk to them (though this is another topic for another time also), but don’t be a jerk about it.

But yeah.

Be patient.

In the long run it pays off trust me.

Good things come to those who wait.

That head canon would be great if Ward wasn't a scumbag who Cap wouldn't waste his time on ever.

You can’t see antagxnized’s response, but they weren’t wrong at all. The way that Ward turned out wasn’t solely Ward’s fault. Yes, he made decisions to do what John Garrett did, but that was the result of years of John Garrett’s abuse and manipulation, on top of the years (and virtual upbringing) in a family of abusers, politicians and people who just genuinely didn’t like him. We are the byproduct of our decisions, but those decisions are influenced by our upbringing. He was dependent on John Garrett and felt it was his duty, his obligation, to support Garrett in the decisions that he made. Yes, he made some scumbag decisions, but to treat him like he’s a stigma, to treat him like he’s worse than garbage as I see so many Grant Wards on this site be treated like is just out of line.

And to go a step further and say that “Cap wouldn’t waste his time on him,” uh, hello, it’s Captain Freaking America. I don’t claim to be an expert, but from the MCU and what comics I have read, Captain America believes in second chances and the inherent good will that may be buried deep inside any individual. To say that Grant Ward is someone that Steve wouldn’t waste his time on is like saying Tony Stark, Hank Pym, or any of the other Avengers or associated teams (Fantastic Four, etc.) are people that he wouldn’t waste his time on. People make mistakes and yes Captain America would make sure that Grant faced the justice he deserved, but the Captain America in my mind wouldn’t look at Ward like a piece of garbage that was beyond redemption.
