āOh is that so, Rufus~?ā Nix answered, moving to place a warm kiss on his lips. It was common for them to play around like this after all. Though this was the first time she tried a new shampoo and caught him off guard. Glad to see it was working.Ā āAnd just how would you do that hm? And how am I to fight off such a powerful predator?ā Was she playing aĀ ādangerousā game with her lover right now? Perhaps but it was always fun in the end. Besides, he started it like always.
Rufus nuzzled gently into Nix's hair. "Hmm... is that a nee shampoo I smell?"
A light blush tinted Nixās cheeks as Rufus nuzzled against her. A warm smile curled her lips as she wrapped her arms around him.Ā āYes it is~. Iām glad you noticed, Rufus. Like it?ā

Anyway! I came to give you some lunch! I know how you forget to eat sometimes when at work, Rufus.ā She was also guilty of forgetting to eat when her mind was so focused elsewhere. Luckily since living with the man before her, that habit was slowly starting to fade away..

This wasnāt a case of someone filling her head with such thoughts, it was herself coming to the conclusions. She understood that he helped her out because of their sibling-like relationship but it wasnāt just him. Gladio had helped her plenty of times as well. Even though the silverette was part of the Crownsguard, part of her felt like she was being a burden since she got assistance from others around her. Did she really earn this rank or was it just given to her because of her gift and that alone?
āI just.. feel like a burden. Like I donāt pull my own weight as a Crownsguard like everyone else. I feel like I need to do more to prove I earned this but I donāt know how. I donāt want to tell Gladio about then because he has enough on his plate to deal with. I was hesitant to tell you because you must be really busy with being part of the Kingsglaive too..ā Nixās voice cracked a little the more she talked, feeling guilt welling up in her chest. The woman was doing all she could to keep herself from crying, such a thing would be shameful to do in public right now.Ā

So it was him! Hearing Nyx confirm that he remembered her and was the one that saved her helped reaffirm that she wasnāt going insane. It was good to see that he survived that incident as well and was now part of the Kingsglaive no less. Though what was she supposed to say now? The woman was terrified that she would say the wrong thing and upset him, which was the last thing she wished to do. The silverette had to take a small, deep breath to calm her nerves a bit before she said something stupid. Again.Ā
Perhaps it was best to simply say what she was feeling. Couldnāt go wrong with the honest truth right? Nix took a step toward him, just to make the distance between them a little less awkward since he was in the middle of leaving.Ā āI.. only made it because you saved me that day. When I saw you earlier today, I wasnāt sure what to day.. Though I honestly wanted to thank you for saving my life. I donāt know if I can ever repay you for that but Iāll surely try.ā It was the least Nix could do. If it wasnāt for Nyxās actions then she wouldnāt be standing there today.

The silverette often walked home alone when she first came to Insomnia, she was by herself after all.Ā āAnd another reason to not be worried is Gladio walks me home everyday. Ever since he saw where I lived, he always made it a point to do that.ā He always did that without fail, like he had some internal clock that let him know when sheād be free for the day.
