It’s funny how people think that international artists create their work specifically to become popular in America, as if gaining popularity among the US public is the ultimate goal of someone’s career.

Not that the achievements are anything to scoff at. But all of these people are successful and talented in their own right. Their popularity in the US isn’t about international creators finally making good stuff, but about the public and creative institutions in the US finally acknowledging non-english/western talent.

i rlly dont want the theater industry to die. seeing a movie is like?? a hard emotional reset when i need it most. get away from my family + my house and sit in big dark room for 2 hours eating overpriced food???? that is the closest i will get to heaven before i die. i love movie theaters so much. please God let them live
