T123C “Lucky” during a harbour seal hunt last spring. We were watching this with our good friends from New Zealand @catherinelea_ and @wildranger_nz … all I wanted them to see was a seal getting pulverized by killer whales and the T123s made dreams come true ☄🌈 #orca #killerwhale #salishseaà http://ift.tt/2j1l2C1

Found plenty of killer whales of the B varieties on this latest excursion to the Southern Ocean and was able to collect some quality data. Thanks so much to friends and colleagues aboard the National Geographic Explorer for the excellent company and hospitality over the last few weeks. Am looking forward to next time!

Calf having a close look by detierraysal The curiosity of the calves led them to observe us closely on the surface again and again. After a brief glance, they returned to their mother, who rested 20 meters below us.

This is not normal behavior for a wild Bottlenose Dolphin. I’m afraid that somebody may have fed this dolphin before. Feeding wild dolphins in both illegal in the United States and harmful for the animal. Unfortunately, I’ve heard of a lot of incidents where people have fed and/or interacted with wild dolphins around St. Andrew’s Bay, Pensacola Bay and Destin Pass/Choctawatchee Bay. Feeding wild dolphins alters their natural behavior and puts them at a higher risk of being struck by boats or becoming entangled in fishing gear.
All of them
So much to say about whales I don’t know where to start. Just love them all.
Diving Into The Deep by ScottButtigieg After about two hours trying to capture an image of a seal I would be happy with, I finally nailed a few, this one is my favourite.
