Thanks for the tag @rosieblogstuff! This is such a fun reflection and I've been enjoying reading everyone's answers.

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

188 (180 under impossiblepluto and another 8 under a different pseudonym or two)

2. What's your total AO3 word count?

876,082

3. What fandoms do you write for?

MacGyver (technically CSI too but it's been a few years)

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I try! It means a lot to receive them and hear that points that resonated with someone or that someone picked up on a thread that I was hoping they would notice. Sometimes I get overwhelmed and I try to give myself some time before responding but before you know it, it's been four years and I sit there going "is it okay to reply four years later?"

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Love wallowing in some angst and I will try my hardest to make you cry your eyes out, but I tend to end things on at least a hopeful note so my angstiest fics don't always have the angstiest endings.

Several folks mentioned crying through Savoring Thyme but I think it has a hopeful ending. hanging by a moment is tough because both Mac and Jack still have a lot of healing to do. Scars, nightmares, it's not something they're going to easily bounce back from and when the fic ends they're still squished but they're starting to find their way. leave a light on comes around full circle and ends where it began. Or begins again where it ends.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? This is a hard one too because a lot of the time it's a cathartic moment for sure, filled with a breath of relief but is it happy? maybe gather near to us once more which is a Triumphant Return type of fic. Riley and Mac figure out a way to help Jack keep a promise. I'm kind of curious about what other people think for both the angstiest and happiest endings.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

When I first started writing for MacGyver there was a rude person and I very nearly deleted my fics and went back into lurking mode. (obviously, I didn't thanks to a kind comment on a fic that came through as I was sitting there shaking and trying to decide what to do.)

A couple months back someone commented to "correct" me on my characterization of James MacGyver in When You Find You because they needed to "explain his decisions" and make sure I "understood why he did what he did." Which of course is not hate, people are entitled to their opinions but when I replied that I disagreed, citing moments from the show to back up my decisions in the fic (and that the fic was written 5 years ago in the hiatus between season 2-3) and that as a heads up, they would find more of the same characterizations of James in my other stories, they called me a spoiled whiny adolescent who was picking a fight and demanding to get my way. You came here first, babe. Again, not really hate but I hated it.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Ha! Nope.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

Sadly no. Would love to do a MacGyver/ Leverage crossover and I've been thinking MacGyver/The Martian thoughts again.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I'm aware of.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

I've had requests and given permission, asking that they send me a link if they do it but I've never heard back.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Sadly no. I've talked about it with a few people over the years. Eliza and I got a few thousand words and a pretty extensive outline but never finished it, even though I have a silly celebratory gift to send her if we ever do.

14. What's your all-time favourite ship?

(following Rosie's lead) The Denis Sullivan a replica three mast, Great Lakes schooner

15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

Every time I start something I worry I'll never finish it. I'm beginning to doubt my season 3-5 and beyond rewrite ("Light All the Matches, Dance on the Ashes") will never see the light of day. This is the first fanfic question game where I don't have to talk about leave a light on for an unfinished wip!

16. What are your writing strengths?

Dialogue. Emotions. Ruminating on feelings.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Anything with more extensive plotting. I get overwhelmed when I'm writing and a fic starts growing bigger.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I think in general it's better not to unless you have a level of fluency with the language. Better to just say in the speech tag that he said something in [x language]. Or if the POV character doesn't know the language, their impression of how the other character says or responds to the line.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

OG Hawaii Five-O

20. Favourite fic you've ever written?

At the moment I have such a profound love for Adversary + Antigen. It's the fourth in a series of fics about Mac discovering that he has a food allergy. It's already twice as long as I thought it would be the the second chapter is maybe a fourth of the way written and super intimidating but a few friends mentioned that it might be my best work which is asdf;kjlasdf

I'm also really proud of the eye of the storm which is a fic dealing with the aftermath of Day 64. Jack stayed but now what? There's a moment in there I really want to explore more thoroughly

I walked up to a restaurant entrance at the same time as this guy and he held the first door for me and then I held the second door for him and he said "we call that the Midwestern two-step" with a laugh and I've been thinking about it all day.

writing something with two characters who use the same pronouns and fighting to balance using names vs using pronouns in a way that's both smooth to read and easy to comprehend

Tumblr PSA:

Idk how long this is going to be an issue. Maybe forever. But when you're tagging people in Tumblr posts, you need to start tagging them in groups of five. After each group, press enter and tag the next group in a new block. If you do not do that, all of the tags after the first five will not work.

I learned this the hard way.

Your tags need to be organized like this.

@/tag1 @/tag2 @/tag3 @/tag4 @/tag5

@/tag6 @/tag7 @/tag8 @/tag9 @/tag10

@/tag11 @/tag12 @/tag13 @/tag14 @/tag15

And so on.

Hopefully this doesn't last forever, but it's definitely the way you have to do it for now.
