CFS is a poorly understood disease that doctors don’t take very seriously; often they tell you that it’s all in your head or that you have depression. It is more prominent in DFAB people but we don’t know why.

The diagnosis process is one of ruling everything else out so it’s really hard, time intensive and costly to get a formal diagnosis.

Other co-morbid things that often pop up with CFS: fibromyalgia, IBS, and migraines.

I totally understand that this tweet is just a joke and that it’s Not That Deep but it does downplay the fight hundreds of thousands of people wage every day to get their doctors to listen to them, take them seriously, and actively do research. The woman featured in the screencap, Jen Brea, made a documentary called Unrest about her experience with CFS, and is one of the leaders of the movement to make medical professionals take us seriously & to raise awareness. Unrest is currently on Netflix, if you’re interested in watching it.

Disability & chronic illness activism doesn’t get a lot of recognition or support from able bodied people so it would be cool if everyone could pitch in and at least signal boost articles like this or educate themselves and their friends and families instead of making jokes like this. Thanks 👋🏻

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome can be a bitch and we just brush it off because “it’s normal to be tired” but it’s not! It’s really not!

If OP lived with the disease , they would no joke about it believe me......It's like being dead and alive at the same time. It's a living torture. So please spread awareness instead of bad tates jokes about something you don't understand.

This is for everyone who had their heart crushed by the mess that was season 8. I want to encourage you to create your own headcanons and hope you will find peace.

God I’m just gonna say it, bc people don’t seem to understand this. Foreshadowing is not the same thing as actually developing a character arc. You can say this was foreshadowed as much as you want but the truth of the matter is, it still doesn’t make sense. They never really showed Dany do anything that would make us believe she is actually going mad. You can’t just have a couple of characters worry about it, have her save millions of lives and then just magically make her go mad. There is no progression. There is her being a hero and then in the span of an episode she is mad. Hinting that Daenerys will go mad, isn’t the same thing as actually writing her decent to madness. I don’t care if you foreshadowed it, it still doesn’t make senses

If you’re European, in a couple of weeks you will be denied any and all access to fandom contents on Tumblr and everywhere else on the internet. Here’s why.

On June, 20th the JURI of European Parliament approved of the articles 11 and 13 of the new Copyright Law. These articles are also known as the “Link Tax” and the “Censorship Machines” articles.

Articles 13 in particular forces every internet platform to filter all the contents we upload online, ending once and for all the fandom culture. Which means you won’t be able to upload any type of fandom works like fan arts, fan fictions, gif sets from your favourite films and series, edits, because it’s all copyrighted material. And you won’t also be able to share, enjoy or download other’s contents, because the use of links will be completely restricted.

But not everything’s lost yet. There’s another round of voting scheduled for the early days of July.

What you can do now to save our internet, is to share these informations with all of your family members and friends, and to ask to your MEP (the members of the European Parliament from your country) to vote NO at the next round, to vote against articles 11 and 13.
