most of the talk on this website about Game Changer is how Sam Reich psychologically tortures his contestants, but I want to make it clear to the uninitiated that he's actually extremely ethical about it

He sends out a company wide email and asks them to choose episodes based on a chili pepper rating system

meaning he doesn't put 🌶️🌶️ people into 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ episodes

they're also big on consent ie cast and crew have to be okay with it before they'll do nudity or something like that in an episode

it's like the bdsm of psychological torture. safe, sane, and consensual.

the contestants know what they're getting into, and they're full down

Brennan Lee Mulligan is enrichment for Sam Reich

it's a very efficient system

Kind of a dog heaven is squirrel hell situation

Tumblr constantly has gems like this where someone says something seemingly inane but it’s actually a thought we’ve all had at some point in our lives

Me, every episode: wow Lark is so cool

The Midst narrators, every episode: and we'd like to take a moment to remind everyone how cool Lark is

I feel that Phineas and Spahr are one of those relationships where you REALLY need to examine it with shipping goggles off. There's so much there that, if distilled solely to a romantic aspect, I think gets lost in translation. There are so many layers to their relationship - the pseudo-parental dimension, the mentor/mentee situation, Phineas' idolatry of Spahr as a moral paragon, Spahr's guilt towards his failings of Phineas, generational trauma, all and then the devotion and romantic dimension on top of that? To condense it to just the romantic component feels reductive in a way that does it a disservice. Regardless of the lens you choose to view it, these two are - and have been - the most important person in the other's life. And after an extremely high-stress, near-death situation that has them both reevaluating their entire worldview? i don't necessarily find it unrealistic that in this absolute mess of emotions, that attachment gets manifested into a kiss, but I hardly see that as the be-all and end-all. There's so much more. It's complicated and ridiculously messy but that's what I love about it.

genuinely i think we need to talk about how insane 2021 was because like. okay so 2020 was the year things started picking up but that was only later in the year. there was some really cool stuff popping up but it was still like . a Blossoming fandom lets say. 2021? 2021 was proper fucking insane. the beginning of that year was the peak for dsmp all around when it started getting reallyyy mainstream after doomsday . and it was still somewhat lockdown unlike in further years, meaning people were by definition more insane. and this was the era where for some reason youtubers and celebrities were interacting a lot???? i feel like we forget how insane some of that year was. i mean the dont stop the party i just reblogged from when jack and tubbo got into beef with biden and BTS. remember when the rock wished tommy a happy birthday. when trump tweeted about quackity. when someone on fox news named their chicken badboyhalo. LIL NAS X. WAS ON THE DREAM SMP. WHAT WAS IN THE WATER

being a dsmp fan throughout the years is like

2020: beginning of it all. the good old days. some of the most banger lore in the whole story.

2021: batshit insane. peak everything. somehow celeb culture infiltrated the whole thing. the most dsmp to have ever dsmp-ed in terms of "what the fuck is even going on". beginning of vlogs

2022: when it started stretching out the worst. a few great streams. most cool irl stuff rather than lore.

2023: legit what even happened i think it mostly switched to qsmp. lots of people left. however it was the most chill it's ever been everyone just kinda had their own communities and it was somewhat peaceful.

2024:

merlin is such a compelling character because he's so contradictory. he's a man of mystery who's really bad at lying. you can tell he's lying about something, but his behavior is so odd no one can guess what he could possibly be lying about. basically, every character looks at him and goes 'you're clearly hiding something but im not really sure if I want to get into all that right now.' this is why he's able to tell everyone he's a sorcerer in episode three and no one believes him.
