On discord we have been talking about which eeveelution each sibling + Dave and Lila would have if they were Pokémon trainers.

I was struck by the idea of Lila having a cheeky little flareon who was her partner in crime. Lila is also able to mimic Flareon’s powers. Here’s the first image of my AU for the Lila and Allison fight in s2 if they were Pokémon trainers.

I wanted to try to make this before the end of mermay, but my other mermay project just took too much of my time. She was just sitting on my computer unfinished until i realized that the mermaid-themed day for @tuaaugust was one of the last days of August and that I’d have plenty of time to finish her for that!

It should be so easy to find a routine, to just settle into this. And he wants everything to fall into place, it would be so easy if it did. But he can’t. It feels like walking on eggshells - like at any moment he’s going to wake up from a dream and he’ll be all alone again.

His Boy

Elliott loves his son.

Okay, so he’s not his biological son, but he’s Elliott’s boy.

He’s sarcastic. He gets headaches sometimes, and has more energy than he knows what to do with. Technology often leaves him frustrated at its limits.

But he’s a good son, coming into Elliott’s life just after his wife left him. Caring for him has kept Elliott from becoming the hermit he wanted to be.

It’s selfish, but he’s glad his boy can’t remember anything.

Only Elliott’s home and care, their shared love of science, and evenings spent together, studying the mysterious aliens from the alley.

Go Tell Osiris

written for @tuaaugust​ Day 19: Commission AU

Allison wishes she’d had the chance to dress up — to rub kohl around her eyes, dress in Egyptian linen and wear an ankh of gold.

The Commission budget’s gone to shit, though, so she’s stuck in a suit and toting a briefcase. And heavy gloves, of course. The asp isn’t meant for her.

Cleopatra is elegant, her chambers exquisite. She shrieks when Allison appears in her doorway, snake in hand. Before the last Pharaoh of Egypt can call for her guards, the words tumble out of Allison’s mouth, just as beautiful and deadly in Ancient Greek.

Scarlet Song

Klaus isn’t a big fan of Hell. Too hot, too dark. Plenty of sinners, yes, but generally too busy writhing in torment to get up to anything fun.

He’ll take dirty, chaotic human existence any day, thanks.

The sixties are a welcome change from the fifties. Free love, flower children, acid-laced upheaval. The times, they are a-changin’, Klaus sing-songs, temptation on his lips, sin on his forked tongue.

Au Shau feels like Hell sometimes, incessant suffering without meaning. He could leave any time, Klaus tells himself, surrounded by dead men walking.

A soldier smiles at a demon, and Klaus stays.

Tin Man

Luther is burning, skin ablaze without flame. His father’s face blurs; the anesthetic drowns the shame on his tongue.

He sleeps without dreaming while his mother cuts away dead flesh.

Luther awakens alone in the infirmary. He reaches to scrub his tired face, but his hand — the thing that was his hand — is cold and numb.

Metal.

Grace bustles in, proffering morphine, but his hollow nerves feel nothing.

Luther stands on titanium feet — staggers back, gasping. Grace breaks his fall, anchors him.

Humming a lullaby, she holds his robotic hand with her own, a mechanical embrace.

Like mother, like son.

The Séance

Klaus has a daemon.

He does, Luther, really.

She just… isn’t on the mortal plane like the others. His siblings’ daemons are the wellsprings of their power — nobody else in the world has them. He is ‘the Séance’, it makes sense that his daemon is a spirit.

When he was young, he imagined he could hug his daemon too.

Then, Luther finds Dad’s journal, locks Vanya in that soundproof cell.

Klaus sees the other room in the basement, two cages divided by a silver blade.

He remembers their screaming. No, Dad, please! Darkness.

Waking up alone.

Dad called it intercision.
