Hi! My skin overlays completely overlap the "default" basis, so even if I used it, it would not affect the final result in any way.

So what affects the appearance of the skin?

Presets! Different presets with different skins look completely different. And this greatly affects how the character looks.

It is impossible to create a preset that will look beautiful with all the skins. Just like it is impossible to create a skin that will look beautiful with all the presets. For example, my very first presets look disgusting with my new skins because I was focusing on other textures (at that time I hadn't created my own skins yet).

I advise you to select the appropriate presets to achieve the most beautiful result. For example here are the changes that occur when you select the appropriate preset, here I didn't even use sliders:

It looks much more beautiful, I think.

How do I create female characters?

As for me, I always start creating a sim with the first default face:

And already from it I create absolutely any face that I want.

List of favorite presets I usually use:

HEAD SHAPE PRESET FOR FEMALES N1-8

EYES PRESETS FOR FEMALES N7-12

NOSE PRESETS FOR FEMALES N28-33

LIPS PRESET F N33-41

LIPS PRESETS F N20-29

And I also advise you to use slider for lip size. This is my all-time favorite slider, I just can't live without it. Some lip presets look pretty big, so I reduce it with this slider (with this slider you can also make lips bigger).

Additional advice

Skin color also affects the appearance of the overlay making the skin more "natural". I use these:

SOFT ROSE SKIN TONES and BLUEBERRY SKIN TONES
