summary: you’re in need of a new dorm buddy because your current roommate sucks and tsukishima might just be the perfect candidate.
You all were enjoying yourselves at the fair, you’ve all gotten on several rides which included you practically forcing tsukishima to get on them with you. Even though you managed avoiding sugawara, it still bothered you that he was near. You wouldn’t say that you were necessarily scared of him; but you felt like he was up to no good.
“Guys look, a Ferris wheel! we should ride it. you said, hinata laughed at how excited you seemed, saying you looked like a happy little kid, which only made you pout in response.
Once you all arrived at the Ferris wheel station, it was only two people per booth and to your surprised, tsukishima had offered to ride with you.
“My man!” Kuroo said, excited for whatever reason, which made tsukishima scoff and shake his head.
“Kenma, how about we ride the Ferris wheel, if you know what i mean.” Kuroo leaned on Kenma, which made kenma move and he glared intensely at Kuroo.
“What does that even,” Kenma said, clearly annoyed with Kuroo’s behavior. “Go ride with Sugawara or something i’m riding with Hin-“
“Kenma, im not riding the ferris wheel, it seems kinda boring.” Hinata chuckled.
“Fine, I’m hungry. i’m getting food.” Kenma walked away, Kuroo quickly following after him.
Once you got on the ferris wheel, you both sat in silence as you were looking to the side, watching the other attractions. You could see the whole fair due to how high up you guys were.
“Y/n,” tsukishima said. He had been staring at you the whole time without you even noticing. Once you turned to face him, your cheeks started toheat up due to how close due to how close you guys are.
“Y/n, what’s wrong, you’ve been acting strange today.” He says, looking at you with a face full of concern.
“I’m fine, Tsukishima,” you said casually turning your attention back to the attractions beneath you. “Just a bit tired, is all.”
Tsukishima crossed his arms, unsatisfied with the answer you gave him. His face contorted into one of annoyance, you didn’t realize, since you were staring away from him, not paying him any attention.
“Is this about Sugawara, or the joke me and Kuroo made earlier?” He said, he sees the way your eyes slightly widen for a split second, but instantly relax so you wouldn’t give away that he was right, but Tsuishima catched on quickly.
“so it is, huh.” you didn’t reply to him and you definitely weren’t going to face his way. “Y/n, please just talk to me-”
“Sugawara and I used to date,” You said, still not making eye contact with him. “He would do and say and do a bunch of shit that would hurt me. Kenma and Hinata told me to leave him, but I was so stupidly in love with him that I didn’t listen. He proposed to me after only dating for a few months and when I denied- he didn’t take it very well.”
You were now fidgeting with your hands, looking down at them, waitng for Tsukishima to reply, but he didn’t say anything. Instead, he did something that was very unespected coming from him. He hugged you.
“I’m so sorry y/n, please don’t cry.” He was clearly upset, you could hear it in his voice.
You were crying? You didn’t even notice. Tsukishima was still embracing you and you let him because you really needed it. Boy, were you touch starved. You let out a sob every now and then, and Tsukishima let you cry on him, not even realizing the others were staring at you guys from below.
tsukishima himself was already feeling angry. he didn’t know why, but the fact that you, y/n, we’re always happy and put on a smiling face even when you were going through shit made tsukishima upset because you deserved better. you should be able to express your feelings because your feelings are valid.
Once you got off the ride, you saw them staring at you and tsukishima. Tsukishima, on the other hand was glaring at Suga.
“What?” you asked, genuinely confused as to why they had shocked expressions on their faces.
“No-nothing! I’m actually really tired. We should head home, it’s getting pretty late anyways. Akaashi said, scratching the back of his head.
“why? it’s only 6.” you shrugged
You all agreed and your ways to the parking lot and said your goodbyes to one another.
