The night hung high above her, peeping through the rough, thick arms of trees that loomed over her small figure, adorned with crumbling, drying leaves that shook fervently in fear. The wind blew songs in her ear, whispering small things she didn’t have the mind to pay heed to.
The silence was deafening, only the hammering hammering sound of her pounding heart frantically beating in her chest echoing through her eardrums. Y/n sprinted by way of the darkish and uninviting wooded area, her brain was once racing quicker than her toes. Twinges and branches assailed her face as she desperately thought of a way to lose those following her.
Y/n’s dress clad form stumbled forward, the lack of oxygen causing her throat to burn and eyes brim with tears.
“How could this happen!?” She silently argued with the voice in her head.
All she wanted to do was visit her aunt in Salem village and now here she was being accused of doing witchcraft. Even her aunt betrayed her once the blame came to her daughter that Y/n had been the one to bewitch her daughter!
It was a terrifying ordeal knowing she might not make it and would suffer the terrible fate of either being burned alive or being hanged. She shook her head at these thoughts, NO! She had to keep her feet moving. Adrenaline surged through her body making her hyper aware of her surroundings.
From afar she spots a light shinning from a cottage, Since she was on the outskirts of the village, she decided to sought refuge there. The occupants of the cottage were a married couple and their two children who ushered Y/n in after witnessing her disheveled form.
A sudden knocking steals their attention and the father moves to open the door but not before Y/n holds onto his arm, fear swirling in her eyes. “Please save me. I swear I’m not what they claim I am to be. I am being falsely accused” the panic in her voice was evident.
The father looked towards his wife before moving towards the door and opening it to find guards on the other side asking for Y/n’s whereabouts. While that conversation is happening, the kids lead her to a hiding spot. Once the guards leave she emerges from the hiding spot and thanks the family for their kindness. What she doesn’t notice is the sudden coldness in their eyes.
The warm stew offered to Y/n calmed her nerves down and she explained her predicament to the family who decided to let her stay the night.
The next morning Y/n opened her eyes but instantly closed them as the sun irritated her eyes. Her throat felt dry and she was suddenly aware of her bound limbs sending her into a panic. Her attempts of wiggling out went in vain. Opening her eyes once again she was greeted by the faces of the Salem village citizens who were giving her unpleasant looks.
She suddenly saw a poster with her name and a rough sketch and a large sum of money for whoever was able to capture her and bring her to authorities and suddenly everything made sense. If only she hadn’t let her guard down around the “kind family”. She notices her parents fighting the guards to get to her but nothing was working.
Losing all hope Y/n gave one last smile to her parents and closed her eyes accepting this cruel fate bestowed upon her. The sun above her was blazing like titans fiery wheel in the sky, the warmth of the rays reminding her of the hugs her mother and head pats her father gave her.
So with a smile plastered on her face, she bid her last farewell as she lost all consciousness. She was dead.

Or so she thought because she woke up for the second time that day. This time she found herself in an abandoned house covered in dust and as she was surveying her surroundings, a very handsome man entered her room.
“Hello! I see you are awake little lady. My name is Taehyung” he introduced himself enthusiastically but Y/n was left speechless because she had heard stories about him from the village folkes…
That’s right…He was Kim Taehyung. One among the only 7 men accused of witchcraft who had all managed to escape and were rebelling against the authorities unjust accusations. Many riots were started by them but no one ever saw them in the flesh. But you knew it was him who saved her life because no one else in the village cared if she lived or not.
“You must be wondering how I saved you?” Y/n almost instantly nodded her head with curiosity.
“Well… I will enlighten you soon darling but first we must get going. We are still on the outskirts of the village and there is a high chance of getting caught so come let’s go” he said. Y/n followed him without a word because she had no other place to go to.
Little did she know this was going to be one hell of a journey of her life…
