honestly i think the best thing gen z has ever invented (other than the revolution) is that thing they do where they put a random object on their heads to represent their mothers or a woman around the age of their mother. like, it started off as just a towel to represent long hair or the post-shower look but it slowly evolved into shit like a box of crackers, a vase with flowers and water still in it, and my personal favourite...

I have a secret to tell.

When my child forgets to clean the bird cage, I clean it as soon as she leaves for school. She then gets a talk when she gets home about cage cleaning and why it’s important.

I let those birds out right after she leaves and put them up before she gets home so she can let them out. That way she can feel the importance of her birds being free.

I change their water and food when she forgets. I trim toes because she cannot do so safely. I check their vents, feet, wings, eyes, ceres, and tummies daily.

My child got pets to help her learn to be responsible. It is my job to make sure their safety, wellbeing, and happiness are maintained as her parent. Pets enrich our lives, but we need to remember that they are not playthings.

Art is the biggest snitch ever man like have you ever read a fanfic and been like “Oh the author is working through some trauma here”

Or when people rec songs/shows/fics and you suddenly know everything you need to know about who they are as a person?

Like I know art is inherently an attempt to make others understand what is going on inside our lonely little heads but sometimes the mortifying ordeal of being known just slips in there while you’re not looking
