Prompt of the day

What was the hardest aspect of coming up with your MC? the way they look? personality? their story?

For Merlin's sake, it was actually working the sibling relationship and making their backstory not all negative/depressing. Especially since some of the aspects mentioned in there is triggering content.

For Minerva (previously known as Dyznomia/Dyz), actually fitting them into the Arcana story. I might just keep them separate/not make a MC but another interactive character.

JJBARCANA Prologue Part 1

A vacant ship arrives at Vesuvia with no tripulation and sends the city to get in an uproar and rumors… Theres an easter egg in this prologue about my favorite movie 👀 Also a small fact: Sutekh in this AU is a courtier at the Devil hand and is the god Seth himself that after he was thrown into prison for the murderer of his brother, he makes a deal with the devil. And now just wants chaos and revenge.

Asra - Bewitched (1964 - 72)

Magical hijinks, sneakily pushing the boundaries of how much feminism you could fit on television, and bold decade-bending fashion choices that won’t be rivaled until The Nanny comes along in the 90s - it’s Asra’s entire brand. 

Julian -  The Addams Family (1964 - 66)

Speaking of brands: dark & macabre on the outside, unavoidably wholesome underneath, with a strong current of the kind of comedy-of-manners that’s followed Julian his entire life. Also, he likes the theme song.

Nadia - Star Trek (1966 - 69)

Futurism - the optimistic kind that isn’t a utopia, but still assumes a society in the pursuit of being just - and Nadia just seem to go together. Not only is she a huge nerd who appreciates the worldbuilding, she actually finds the pseudoscience charming, too.

Muriel - The French Chef (1963 - 73)

He likes the gentle music, the subtle life advice, and the satisfaction of watching something being made, but more than that, if anyone makes Muriel feel better about his tumultuous relationship with food (and probably height, too), it’s Julia “A party without cake is just a meeting” Child. 

Portia - The Twilight Zone (1959 - 64)

TZ is the Portia of classic TV: dabbling in multiple genres with a sprinkle of wit and mastery of short-form storytelling (pun only a little intended). Plus, Portia loves a good twist - it’s like an adventure in TV show-form. 

Lucio - I Love Lucy (1951 - 57)

Pun thoroughly intended, and of course he likes the title, but really, it’s the slapstick and feel-good comedy. Lucio may not be able to spell vaudeville, but he’s a sucker for physical comedy.

I loved learning that @timmys-and-scribbles Julianne is from the scourgelands! Vee is also originally from somewhere in the south (not exactly sure where tho lol) too, though their clan fled north when they were a baby and they were then raised by adoptive parents, so their connection to that culture is almost nonexistent.

Sutekh as the devil is always fun to draw. Thank you all to amazing apprentices Christine ( @ask-christine-angelique ), Jay ( @l0velesschild), Leon (_feral_bastard on insta), and Merlin (@xsleepywitch) that are now Sutekh helpers 😳 Also the one with the red neckscarf is my version of human!Devil thought I’d sneak it in. Sutekh is burning the tarot card as he wont need to be stuck in it no more.
